The Research Triangle has so much to learn from what’s going on in Boston
I cannot remember the last time I saw #Boston like this

Mannnnn seeing the success of rail service in places like Louisiana and Mississippi makes me wish North Carolina would finally connect the triangle with commuter rail
I love some variety in the locomotives in my life! Thanks @Amtrak! The Mardi Gras Service is a great example of what the next steps in American Passenger Rail should be! New Orleans here I come!

There’s a reason projects like this happen in Oklahoma. Austin and his team spent the planning phase developing great architecture, engineering, and trades. Here in NC, we’d be stuck in navigating Byzantine permissions systems with lawyers, consultants, and engagement professionals.
Turns out hiring a videographer vs filming myself makes a big difference. We’re bringing beautiful architecture back.

This is a reminder that the Triangle once studied building a commuter rail line. We can be the generation to make it happen.
The Greater Triangle Commuter Rail project would serve a region slated to grow by more than a million people in the next 30 years. Have your say in how the project proceeds by visiting readyforrailnc.com/feasibili… and leaving your comments!

LET’S GO NORTH CAROLINA! Now let’s build out Charlotte’s metro system and finally build a commuter rail in and around Raleigh!
North Carolina is building a lot of housing. The Raleigh-Cary MSA is issuing the most overall SF and MF permits combined of the 50 largest markets. Charlotte is at 6th. Meanwhile Wilmington for SF-only permits is running at 13.7/1,000 - the 3rd highest rate across 300 markets.

Details like this always lead me to share this reminder: Just because a rail line is out of service or lightly used does not mean it’s necessarily a plug & play opportunity for new passenger rail service. 🛤️
Replying to @RAILMag
The portion of the former Norfolk Southern O Line from just north of Norris Ave to the wye with the NS Charlotte District (leading to the Charlotte Gateway Station location) has been out of service for some time and will need significant rehabilitation work.

Thoughts on Charlotte's Red Line following voters passing the PAVE Act: *City of Charlotte purchased the corridor from NS in Sept. 2024. Thankfully the measure passed... *For hope of securing federal $s, service must be planned for no less than hourly, bi-directional frequency👇

The S-Line will be transformational for everyone in the Research Triangle and North Carolina’s economy!
🎉ICYMI: Work on the “S-Line” project, a passenger rail line from Raleigh, N.C., to Richmond, VA., is officially underway. Once complete, this new route will save travelers an estimated 90 minutes per trip and form a key link in the SE Corridor.

Traffic calming measures are a fantastic way to increase safety in cities. Thank you Durham!
Downtown Durham continues to see speed reduced! Our crews have successfully installed more signs with lowered speed limits along Main Street. The previous speed along this road was 35; it is now 25 MPH. Within the downtown loop, the speed limit has been reduced from 25 mph to 20 mph.

PLEASE MAKE THE SECOND OPTION HAPPEN SO WE CAN FINALLY LINK RALEIGH AND WILMINGTON @Amtrak
NCDOT is looking at bringing Amtrak service to Wilmington, expanding on the already popular state supported Amtrak services
