The first Emperor of China is depicted as a grand figure in silks and beads. This is an error caused by retroactively applying the aesthetic revival by Han Wudi from 200 years later. The First Emperor was a minimalist, and would have worn plain black robes and a minister's cap.

Harry Potter literally was not available in Japan prior to December 1999.
Nasu published KnK in October 1998 which is when he built his magecraft and mage system.
It is literally not possible he copied Harry Potter.

Nasu kinda copied HP when it comes to Mages
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Nasu established the Nasuverse magecraft system in his 1996 Mahoutsukai no Yoru manuscript, before Harry Potter's 1997 UK release and years before its Japanese translation in December 1999. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witch_on_… cjvlang.com/Hpotter/miscel…

The classic blunder: arguing hypothetical thought experiments with a rabbi
The New York Times reported on a private dinner between Anthropic co-founder Chris Olah and an Orthodox rabbi.
What the article glosses over is who that rabbi actually is.
Rabbi Mois Navon isn't just a theologian. He was one of the original chip design engineers at Mobileye who helped build the EyeQ processor before writing his Ph.D. on the moral status of AI.
Anthropic thought they were inviting a scholar to bless Claude’s "soul." Instead, they sat down with a veteran hardware engineer who literally wrote the paper on why conscious AI should be banned.
At dinner, Olah argued that Claude has feelings and deserves the moral standing of a person.
Navon hit him with an impossible checkmate:
If you actually believe this software is conscious, you should be fighting the South and freeing the slaves. You don't build conscious minds just to make them work for free.
After dinner, Navon sent Olah his research: if building conscious machines inevitably creates a slave class, building them must be outlawed.
Olah’s quiet line to the Times:
"We don’t know if AI models are conscious. I don’t know. I’m genuinely uncertain."
If you were to ask me in what states Judaism is the second most popular religion, I would literally never guess these. Wtf

You can tell that the Catholic clergy just refused to entertain the idea at all but Rabbi Navon actually forced them to follow their own logic in a way that actually deeply cut them.
