Lifelong conservative voter here. Even the last election I had my doubts but voted for PP (Patrick Brown was my preferred). Have now switched to Liberal. More because of Maple MAGA & their racist ideas. Don’t trust me, look at their cowardly posts. Always the same crap 🇨🇦

Only way out of Putins mess seems for someone in his circle to take him out
Tonight, fires are raging around St Petersburg after another Ukrainian drone attack. All because a 74-year-old man in the Kremlin decided that conquering his neighbours was more important than giving his own people a future. Imagine what Russia could have been. Your children studying at universities in Paris, Oxford or Berlin. Families spending summers on the Mediterranean, skiing in the Alps, discovering Rome, Barcelona and Copenhagen. Russian scientists working alongside Europe's finest minds. Businesses flourishing, borders opening, young Russians falling in love, travelling freely and building prosperous lives in the world's most extraordinary neighbourhood. And Russia's vast oil wealth could have continued filling the national savings account, building a financial cushion for a rainy day and securing the prosperity of future generations. Instead, that fortune has been drained by war, and the country's financial future has been mortgaged to one man's imperial ambitions. You had an entire continent on your doorstep, ready to trade, cooperate and prosper. Instead, you have sanctions, burning oil facilities, military funerals, censorship and a generation sacrificed to one elderly man's imperial fantasies. Children raised on militaristic propaganda, families struggling with poverty and alcoholism, and young men sent to die in Ukrainian fields. And your great international friendship? North Korea. A miserable dictatorship famous for prison camps, hunger, compulsory displays of loyalty and children taught to march in formation. Now Russia's future is increasingly tied to the failed Trump regime. And if you believe a man whose business empire has seen six corporate bankruptcies involving casinos and hotels is going to rescue the Russian economy, you may be in for another disappointment. Sorry, but Donald Trump is not Russia's financial salvation. You could have shared Europe's prosperity. Instead, Putin has brought you closer to Pyongyang, with a bankrupt casino magnate as your supposed lifeline. What a catastrophic waste of a great country's future. Oh well, anyway.

“Trump is tough to deal with” he’s a fucking madman bent on swallowing Canada piece by piece. Voted for you in the last election but never again you POS
Trump is tough to deal with. But Mark Carney should have known that when he made a promise in the election to get a good deal with the U.S. He made the promise. He broke that promise. U.S. tariffs have more than doubled and broadened on Canadian business since Carney took office promising he could “handle Trump." Everything is worse. Canadians can’t eat speeches or pay rent with his political theatrics. It is time for results.

In 1988 Trump bought a $30M yacht, three helicopters for $21M, Plaza Hotel for $390M, Mar-a-Lago for $7M, a controlling interest in a casino for $79M,The Taj for $273M and an airline for $365M. The year after he visited Russia. Coincidence? cnbc.com/2017/10/19/trump-to…

Hola, soy palestino. 1947. La ONU me ofreció un estado. Junto a Israel. Fronteras, independencia, reconocimiento. Me dio autonomía. ¿Democracia? No he tenido elecciones en casi 20 años.

It’s not about getting Diesel. Trump is being directed to get Ukraine to submit to Russia.
I don’t believe the volume of diesel Russia will export will affect the price. Moreover, we see that they can export from 300,000 to 500,000 tons a month today. Meanwhile, global consumption stands at 120 million tons a month. What kind of impact can that have? I don’t think it would have any. If some people think otherwise, so be it. So I believe there are entirely different reasons behind these actions. If this is the approach, then why isn’t America making a “diesel deal” with Ukraine? Let Ukraine propose a “diesel deal.” We do have influence over whether these ships can sail or not, whether these refineries can operate or not. If that’s the case, then let’s do it. Electricity is what matters to us. That’s clear. If we can be guaranteed protection for our power system, then we will not strike Russia’s diesel infrastructure in response. Electricity is first and foremost about helping people – keeping their lights on. It also means helping Europe. Everyone knows that we are connected to the European power grid. And if our energy infrastructure is not being destroyed, we can help some countries that are facing shortages by supplying them with cheaper electricity. So, yes, let’s sign a corresponding “diesel deal” with the President of the United States. From remarks at the Warsaw Security Forum. (1)

It is sickening that the USA is now lifting sanctions on Russian fuel, and transparently ridiculous to blame Ukraine for the spike in prices that obviously began with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Putin is murdering innocent Ukrainian civilians every day. The Ukrainians are fighting for their lives. And yet the White House is apparently determined to force American drivers to bankroll Putin’s slaughter. It won’t work and I doubt it will make much difference to the price of fuel. If we want Russian oil and gas back on the world market then let’s end this war - with a free, sovereign and independent Ukraine.

Of course Bernie makes it all about Israel bashing
My Statement on the Third Anniversary of October 7th Three years ago today, Hamas murdered some 1,200 people in Israel, the vast majority of them civilians, committed horrific atrocities, and dragged 251 hostages into captivity. The attack against Israelis on October 7th was a horrific act of terrorism. Hamas murdered Israelis in cold blood at a music festival and in their kibbutzim. The deliberate killing of innocent people is never resistance. It is a crime against humanity. It is a war crime. Like any country facing a terrorist attack, Israel had the right to defend itself and go after Hamas. Tragically, the Netanyahu government in Israel did not wage a war against Hamas alone. It waged a genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza. More than 74,000 Palestinians have been killed, most of them women, children and the elderly, and more than 175,000 have been wounded. Gaza's homes, hospitals, schools and water systems have been reduced to rubble. Instead of continuing to provide military aid to the extremist government of Israel, the United States should be doing everything possible to provide and support humanitarian aid to the desperate people in Gaza and bring peace and justice to the region. The way to honor every person lost over these three years is to end the bloodshed: No more American weapons for the extremist Israeli government, a real and enforced ceasefire, full access to humanitarian aid, reconstruction by and for Palestinians, and a genuine path to a Palestinian state alongside a secure Israel. On this solemn day, we must come together to demand a lasting peace.

Guessing not many Palestinians will be blessed as precious few want peace and to live side by side.
It is already October 7th in Israel. A day that will live in infamy. God bless the Jewish people, and remember all lost on that terrible day. And bless also the Palestinians who seek peace, and a homeland, living side by side.

Bo seems to be a very pragmatic type of person. Has already said that he & his GF like living in NYC and no one else will pay him near that much
The first piece of real Mets news to likely expect is Bo Bichette’s $47M opt out — he has five days to decide after the World Series concludes
