We all know that hiring is expensive, not to mention the investment ramping and onboarding the new hire. This is even more so for a senior leader. ❓So the question is: "When should I hire a Head of Product?" #productmanagement #startups #founders misteryeo.substack.com/p/hea…

Replying to @aegeanairlines
@aegeanairlines Flying AC 5701 today from Athens and at the gate was asked to check my bag because it was too big. I flew A3 785 into Athens and had explicitly asked your agents whether I should pay for baggage upfront and check-in and was told multiple times it wouldn't be required. I was able to bring my bag aboard my first flight. Your gate agent (who I have the name of) told me that her colleagues made a mistake and it wasn't her problem (implying it was my fault as a customer) and I had no choice but the pay in order to board the flight. I later saw another local European passenger whose bag was also too big and was not charged. This is a terrible treatment of your customers caused by poor internal management. Please rectify this situation.

I have now seen multiple people board the flight with suitcases larger than mine as well. And now that I'm onboard, there are multiple overhead bins next to my seat which are EMPTY when they announced boarding being completed. This is utter discrimination.

It's insane that's 5 years have already passed since @jaentwistle first pitched me on the vision to help people find their happy place! Proud to have backed the team and to see the incredible growth and impact. @alwaysunday maybe we should go cowork somewhere sometime since we never manage to meet up?!
Today, Wander turns 5 years old.🎉 To celebrate you helping us make it here, we’re giving away a free trip to one of our 5 original properties. To enter, simply reshare this post and tag the person you’d want to go on an adventure with in the replies.

Crazy how my worlds have collided from Meltwater to seeing @SVMansuri join the team at @wander. LFG!!
We’re excited to welcome @SVMansuri as President & COO @Wander. From day one, he’s brought a level of clarity, execution and leadership that’s already shaping how and what we build. We’ve never been more confident in our vision to build the infrastructure to experience the world.

A well articulated write up on the evolution of the PM role. For a lot of PMs I've talked to, it all sounds scary, but when you peel it all back it's just putting a magnifying glass on a skill you were already honing when it comes to deeply understanding the problem. And now we're being more hands-on with the build and iteration process alongside our design and engineering counterparts.

Planning tool is failing on @cursor_ai? Tried it a few times and the same thing happened:

This was specifically while using GPT-5.1 Codex Max. Composer 1 works fine, so it's model specific?

Coolest thing I've seen this week - and it's not AI 🤯 Turning film camera shots digital!
¡WOW! De un negativo rescataron una foto antigua. 👏

The job of product marketing has *always* been about storytelling. This isn't anything new in tech, it's just being put under the spotlight. The best product marketers are inherently great storytellers.
The hot new job at tech companies is leading "storytelling." The term doubled on LinkedIn job posts in the U.S since last year. The WSJ writes: "Compliance technology firm Vanta this month began hiring for a head of storytelling, offering a salary of up to $274,000." "Productivity app Notion recently merged its communications, social media and influencer functions into one 10-person, so-called storytelling team." "Financial technology brand Chime last month began hiring for a director of corporate editorial and storytelling—its first storyteller opening." As a former reporter and career-long content/brand leader, I have some thoughts! These examples point to a shift in internal marketing orgs that reflect a shrinking earned media landscape and an endless, growing number of distribution channels to share and own your narrative, i.e. "going direct." It's not entirely editorial, or events, or PR, or marketing. It's how all these pieces work together and how they contribute to the bigger picture - your story! I joke with my reporter friends that they are infinitely hireable if they ever left journalism. Why? Because we are trained to ask: "So what? Why should readers care? What does it mean for them?" To me, that's a big nuance in this conversation. Because... *Storytelling is a human act and it's a service.* Super interested to watch what happens here. Are you long/short on this role?

Visited the @cursor_ai office yesterday. Forgot to take the iconic shoes-off pic. Later saw this photo from a friend and thought, wow, same place. It was not. Apparently not all shoe piles are created equal. Some are…color coordinated.

Written communication is such an underrated and under-tested skill. Whether you work in a remote or in-person environment, being a clear and concise writer wins. Writing turns raw thoughts into something worth talking about it. In turn, it takes decisions and memorializes it for the team.

I'm an addict. 😬 I'm addicted to customer calls. Every time I come off a call, I am energized without fail. If they're happy, you get a lot of positive signals of the impact that your team delivered. If they're upset, their feedback sheds light on what *could* make impact. Without it, you're flying blind.

I know everyone raves about "Plan" mode but I've been loving "Ask" mode in @cursor_ai. It's helping me learn the code that I'm vibin' up - it's like a tutor for coding!

Got transported into the world of Harry Potter earlier this week and it was truly magical 🧙‍♂️ ✨

I've been experimenting with a voice-to-thought capture flow today using @cursor_ai. One tap, speak, automatically tagged. Trying to solve the problem of ‘I said/experienced a great thing or met an awesome person today forgot.’ after reading @MatthewDicks' Storyworthy and trying to build a habit of recording story worthy moments in my day-to-day. Am I the only one who forgets these moments?

Adoption and open mindedness to AI is simply not the same outside tech bubbles. SF/NYC are bubbles. X is a bubble. I've spent the past week in London catching up with friends who don't work in tech. They're so resistant to AI being introduced in their jobs. They believe it's more effort than it's worth to implement.

Example from the legal industry. Spoke to a friend who's a partner at a law firm here in London. He told me how the higher ups are forcing the implementation of @harvey without investing in the hours needed to actually get it trained up. - It works well for simple tasks, but isn't knowledgeable enough for the complex tasks that are meaningful - Junior folks using Harvey aren't experienced enough to train it - Senior partners aren't motivated to step in an train it, they've done their time and are earning the big bucks His take: "Harvey should spend a lot to hire senior partners to train their AI"
