Thank fuck I sold all my ADA and my CNTs days before the hack. Cardano is an absolute shit show. πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

I was also using SecondFi because Lace UI was so terrible from their update that I was basically forced to look for an alternative. And given the fact that they marketed it as Yoroi rebranding into SecondFi, thought process was it's open-source and has stood the test of time.

Holy fuck Emurgo can't do anything right lmaoo. πŸ’€
🚨 An Important Security Update from the SecondFi Team We identified a security issue impacting a small number of Cardano wallets on our platform. We have contained the issue and paused the affected functions. Our engineering teams are actively working to restore full functionality to the platform. To protect our users, SecondFi has been temporarily placed into maintenance mode. All front-end interactions are paused.

Main story is that he is hoping to get enough power that voting NO with that single drep means proposals can't pass.

Congrats Cardano holders, We just agreed to pay 32 million ADA for non-essential research items whilst ADA sits at 0.15 cents with the 1 proposer having now received 150m ADA for this year alone. 🫠

Shoutout to the top 3 DReps: Emurgo/Yoroi for taking 28 days to finally decide to Abstain vote and then the next day change to a Yes vote. Yuta for voting No, Yes, Abstain then back to Yes all after the proposer called out an entire nationality of people. Great stuff.

And before anyone says anything, YES, post-quantum research is the only essential item. Which is what the proposal should be for.

DeFi Kernel Rising We launched v2.dano.finance/ beta β€” a concrete step toward Cardano’s Global Order Book. We’re connecting DEXs, Lend & Borrow, Rusty DeFi Kernel, and every dapps so users can build any combination of actions in a single atomic transaction. This is eUTxO as it was meant to be: true composability. Our transaction building service + SDK makes it simple β€” publish your datum structures and we integrate. Great UX ideas no longer need to fight the UTxO layer. More connectivity = combined TVL + dramatically higher on-chain transaction volume. That volume flows directly to the settlement layer and increases demand for ADA. The Global Order Book is taking shape on Cardano.

Right now Cardano governance is basically: Team proposes idea β†’ asks for funding β†’ voters decide if idea sounds good. What we MUST change it to: Ecosystem decides what needs to be built in line with roadmap β†’ treasury posts job β†’ teams apply β†’ we select best candidate.
"Never let a good crisis go to waste." Now is the perfect time to implement some fundamental changes in how we do things on Cardano. One of the key things we need to nail down as an ecosystem is a clear roadmap with milestones. A unified roadmap is necessary to mobilize a community. Without it, we're wandering around aimlessly, all pursuing our own goals. A unified roadmap is something we can all rally behind. Just think of the original Cardano roadmap. This was the most important thing to get me onboarded, as it showed me that the project has a clear path and I had things to look forward to. We have the Cardano 2030 Vision and Strategy; it's a great start as a guiding light, but we need to make this more concrete and actionable. Additionally, it becomes very clear to me that we need to recentralize certain aspects of Cardano. Some call this an "executive function"; I hate that name. Let's be honest with each other and call it as it is. A recentralization of some activities, e.g., a company assigned to market Cardano, another one assigned to do aggressive BD. We can do this if we come together as an ecosystem and leave our egos out as much as possible. Additionally, the belief that "someone will do it" doesn't work. We need clear mandates and metrics to measure whether those in charge are delivering on their promises. Here we should use actual KPI-based payment gates, only get paid if an ambitious KPI is met (e.g., stablecoin liquidity above x%) One thing is for sure, I alone won't be able to do all of these things. We can only do this together as a community.

I will post a more in depth article about this idea.

Why don't we fund Cardano infra with endowments instead of grants? Assign 10m ADA from treasury to a project which basically spins up their own stakepool & uses staking rewards to fund operations/development. The original 10m ADA is never touched. Open source is a requirement.
After four years of building for Cardano, today we have difficult news to share.

The stakepool can also be opened to community delegation, allowing users to directly support the projects they value. The infrastructure becomes community owned and the rewards are a maintenance fund for open-source contributions. I think we can build on this idea.

That's an additional 102 million ADA to the let me check.. 2 billion ADA they've already received. Plus don't forget, the Japanese have to vote for the research proposal or else.. so that's another 32 million ADA.
