2025 was a reality check for crypto
The last Founders show saw c-level members of top web3 startups break down the biggest failures of 2025, the lessons learned, and the few real wins that point to where crypto is heading next
1/Here are the key highlights from the discussion⤵️
It’s good to start the year with numbers up.
But the Q4 2025 downtrend is something worth reflecting on.
What we saw toward the end of last year wasn’t just volatility. It was a signal.
▸Presales not getting filled
▸Tokens losing 60%+ at TGE
▸Liquidity rotating faster than ever
This isn’t retail losing interest. It’s retail getting smarter.
The market is quietly shifting from "what's trending?" to "why should I buy this?"
For the first time in a while, fundamentals are baked into the decision-making process:
▸What problem does the product actually solve?
▸Who is using it?
▸How does it generate revenue?
Projects without clear answers are being punished immediately.
And that’s why Q4 2025 matters.
It’s an early indication of where the industry is heading in 2026.
▸Narratives alone won’t carry launches anymore.
▸Community alone won’t defend price.
Strong fundamentals will define investment decisions this year.
We are looking forward to how this will shape the investment landscape going forward.
▸Invest in the best products
▸Support the best builders
▸Become the leading Web3 investing syndicate
2025 is just a stepping stone

Are crypto cards the next big thing bridging crypto and real-world spending?
At the last Founders Show, we explored if you can truly live bankless today, what’s missing in UX and credit system, and how crypto cards are evolving.
1/Major highlights from the discussion ⤵️
CT says it's ICO season, but the numbers tell another story
Fewer new teams are being backed as monthly funding rounds in crypto sit at an all-time low
Builders have spent years optimizing for fundraising, not users; for tokens, not products
Until crypto rebuilds around real user demand
ICO season will stay a timeline illusion, not a market reality

Are airdrops slowly being replaced by ICOs?
Since the beginning, airdrops were crypto’s go-to growth strategy
But after endless Sybil farms, mercenary hunters, and instant TGE dumps, the model hit a wall
Projects built massive communities that disappeared as soon as they launch
Now a new pattern is emerging
Public sales that carry the same early-access energy as airdrops, but with real commitment
When people commit capital, they behave differently
They tend to read updates, join governance, and stick around through volatility
And teams get something airdrops never offered: aligned holders
Airdrops, if done right, can still reward usage, testing, and core community contributions
However, ICO-style public sales are becoming an easy way for teams to know who has skin in the game
Maybe ICOs aren't replacing airdrops after all. Maybe it's finally fixing what broke
