Reinventing the wheel is essential to achieving mastery
Start learning every skill by doing a perfect replica of a masterwork—a painting, a website, a product, a story
You’ll appreciate all the details that went into making something great, and have a to-do list of what to improve upon (the difference between your version and what you copied)
PS. Mastery is defined as being able to make something masterful without reference material
Building financial wealth is just another rat race. The goal post shifts. 🤑
Time freedom on the other hand is not a race, it has a maximum. There are only 24 hours in a day. If you can control your time and do things on your own terms, you’ve already won. 🏆

A guy who did both law school and medical school on which is harder.
He explains how medical school is mostly rote memorization.
This really explains a lot. Doctors seem to be high on conformity and not that distinguished in thinking ability. The field selects for it.

A few ways to navigate this as someone who's lived in the UK all of their life:
1. Move close to nature. You want multiple walking routes at your doorstep.
2. Move close to community. Good pubs, restaurants, schools. Use your local amenities.
3. If you have family and friends around, see them as often as you can.
4. Travel lots. You're right in the middle of the map.
5. Take your holidays in November and February. Get out of the cold in the dead months.
6. Stay at home June to August. Do staycations while it's warm. There's nothing like a great British summer.
7. Make friends with people from other countries. Learn to take inspiration from success. Get some perspective.
8. Advertise your services globally on the internet to break through local price ceilings.
9. Go to the gym. Especially when it's dark.
10. Remember that happiness comes from within. A new place can improve your quality of life, but your internal problems will follow you wherever you go.
🇬🇧 British people are now the 2nd most miserable people in the world
Previous happiness studies are based on income, wealth and healthcare quality, simply putting Western countries on top always, very very biased
The new Mental State of the World report is the first happiness ranking that actually makes sense and is based on surveys of satisfaction
People in many low-income countries are actually MORE happy regardless of income: in this case for example 🇩🇴 Dominican Republic and 🇱🇰 Sri Lanka are VERY happy
While people in a high-income country like United Kingdom are VERY unhappy

More mornings like this please! 👨🏾💻
Yesterday, I attended a healthtech networking event at Rathbones as a part of my healthtech fellowship with @BiteLabsHealth.
Excited to work in spaces aiming to innovate healthcare with digital solutions. 🚀
I’m glad I’ve decided to pivot my career to utilise my medical degree in other ways.
What is this? Whilst I appreciate the need to up-skill existing talent, degrading consultant physicians who often complete 10-15yrs+ of post graduate training is unacceptable. [1/2]

By putting the focus on doing everything in your power (@NHSEngland) to undermine doctors, the haemorrhage of talent will skyrocket.
Looking at 10 of my F2 colleagues, only 2 of them are going into training, and at least 5 of us are leaving the profession. [2/2]
