Hi,
I'm currently working with several informal groups (mainly alumni networks and friend communities) who organize occasional events together.
Do you offer an API or developer-accessible product that would allow us to integrate your split payment features directly into our own platform or workflows (rather than through your consumer-facing app)?

Here’s one reason Apple fought tooth and nail to disallow web payments for apps:
Because Apple’s IAP is bad in many ways, and *so many* apps will move to web-based payments now not mainly because of the 30% Apple fee, but because of how bad IAP is.
Let me give you examples:
the dude completely lost it...

Breaking Bad is a co-founder story disguised as a drug-dealing story.
It’s a hilariously accurate image of what co-founder challenges look like.
Here are the best example scenes and what you can learn from them.
what's the new drama now? Seriously going after your own community doesn't sound like a smart move.
Invoking point 18 of the plugin directory guidelines, we are introducing Secure Custom Fields (SCF), a free fork and drop-in replacement of the Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) plugin. You can safely uninstall ACF and activate SCF from the #WordPress plugin directory. SCF provides security updates and is a non-commercial plugin welcoming developers to get involved in maintaining and improving it.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The message fails to mention that Automattic previously blocked access to ACF's developers bc they work at WPEngine.
The developers were therefore consciously and intentionally prevented from fixing the security vulnerability.

Meanwhile it cannot "understand" how many "r" in strawberry.
This is great to make the stock price goes up, and create a feel of magic - as if there is more than math and silicon.
If anything maybe it will finally drive us to understand what does being human mean...
While i love the analogy - it's still the same as the monkey typing Shakespeare with a better methodology - there is no fundamental understanding. It's a silicon chip output.
But pretending otherwise is good for the stock price, that's an incentive that easy to "understand"
Ilya fucking nails it.
Why predicting the next word leads to REAL understanding:
"Say you read a detective novel.
It's a complicated plot -- different characters, mysteries, clues...
Then, on the LAST page of the book, the detective has gathered all the clues, and says "I am going to reveal the identity of whoever committed the crime, and that person's name is..."
Predict that word."
We should automate what we can automate
automation is mostly about replication of known processes
Not sure how much we can automate the solving of problem
it is one thing to guess the next 10 lines of code
it is an other to think through a problem and make it work
