This is totally true. Changing to micro services will not fix your spaghetti monster, but rewriting in Go surely will!
"You don’t want to hear that the reason your monolith is a spaghetti monster is because you let it become that way, one commit at the time, due to weak habits, pressurized deadlines, or simply sheer lack of competence." m.signalvnoise.com/integrate…

CAN'T SHARE THIS ENOUGH --> What to do if a stranger is being harassed.
I did this and it works. To have read this cartoon a while back and to have had this tool in that terrible moment was so empowering. Take a look. You will need this sooner or later.

I've been doing software for 20 years teaching and coaching other devs for almost half of that, and the interview process has me legit questioning everything about my competence. Do I actually know what I'm talking about? Am I actually engaging and personable? Do I smell weird?

Nowadays, if you register to attend a conference you are risking that the conference organizers will scour you’re social media and then publicly impugn your reputation because they disagree with you.
We need a Code of Conduct for conference organizers. – at Québec, Canada

If one of your Go dependencies aren't using modules, take a look and see if there is an easy win to get it migrated over. Sometimes it's as easy as asking the maintainer to add a tag. The faster we get everyone on modules, the more enjoyable working with them will be. #golang

Great post on leveraging cache and multi layer docker images on stateless build agents:

We want to use similar technic to host "run a job and die" agents in kubernetes. Allowing us to auto-scale our build cluster based on job queue size.
The use of .../internal packages in #Golang . Keep those internally exported symbols hidden.

Thought of the day. How can I reduce my cloud spending ?
Maybe kill those test VMs, virtualize more my apps.
More Kubernetes !!!
Started using @audible_com to make my commute more meaningful.
Getting hook on the "DevOps Handbook". Great follow up to "the Phoenix project". Helping organization do software engineering the right way.
Brilliant explanation on Go slices:
reese.dev/go-slices-demystif… Thanks @johnpreese !
Slices are values but you can play with underlying array pointers .... just for the sake of understanding them, don't do this in prod 8p #Golang

As a fat person, this really resonated with me. Fat shaming is nothing more than bullying, and it needs to go the fuck away. Thank you @JKCorden – at Seattle, WA
“If making fun of fat people made them lose weight, there’d be no fat kids in schools.” — @JKCorden responds to @billmaher's call for the return of fat shaming.
