Future investors now face a built in counterweight. A public benefit fund on the cap table raises the cost of any later bid to weaken Anthropics safety mission, even with 5% of ownership.

We’re committing a portion of Anthropic’s shares to the Anthropic Public Benefit Fund, a new wholly owned entity dedicated entirely to the public benefit.
It will start off with 5% of our shares. For every 50% increase in the company’s value over a set baseline, we can contribute up to an extra 2%, subject to our board’s discretion.
In total, this means that roughly 20% of Anthropic’s shares are committed to the public good. Our co-founders have already pledged to donate 80% of their equity, and around half our employees are donating a portion of their equity as part of a donation matching program we’ve run since our founding.

The NBA has millions of followers, but apparently not enough to sell a meme coin.
Its official Instagram account was reportedly compromised to promote a fake NBA token on PumpFun.
the numbers are pretty revealing:
• 3,592 likes on the deleted post
• 500 comments
• $3,500 token market cap
And the NBA’s X account was already used for a similar scheme in March 2025.
What stands out to me is the gap between visibility and actual demand.
Thousands of interactions, a globally recognized brand, and almost no market traction.
But I wouldn’t mistake that for a harmless incident.
A compromised verified account can turn years of accumulated credibility into a distribution channel for scams overnight.
So, how much trust should we place in a token announcement even when it’s from an official account??
