this spring i’ve been off 🐦 site as i try to write + graduate. will be continuing to take a break from most social media + many work things, as i deal with a bunch of health issues. long term stress + heart health is real. take care of yourselves ❤️

There's still SO MUCH to write about. For example, Mead and Bateson cybernetic takes on UN, Cold War Policy, Soviet arms race based on interwar colonial anthropology. I write about it in CODE bit.ly/3E3VQly & even more threads in work by @oumitoul @paidipaty @rlemov
2023: seriously evaluating my life and how much busy-ness and overextending myself actually causes harm to others via reactivity, lack of mindfulness + thoughtfulness, etc.
literally this tweet popped into my head again while meditating this morning and +1 to east coast/west coast cybernetics comp analysis. would love to read too intersections of postcolonial moment, cybernetics and race thru the east coast/west coast lens.
someone should write an essay explaining US West Coast (Bay Area) vs US East Coast (Cambridge, MA) cybernetics. It's sketched in so much work, e.g, by @richardbarbrook, @fturner, @NoraBateson, @HZeavin (on Lily), but I don't think there's a systematic comparative analysis, yet.
also east coast cybernetics/postcolonialism/race as related to bretton woods reshuffling of the world
reading across disciplines is fun and revealing and the different terms disciplines use to describe similar things is interesting…also i wanna know why more stem-y disciplines love using soft and hard to distinguish things
