My 409 day streak on @chesscom will end here. Moving to @lichess now with monthly donations.
I understand the need to make money, I also understand the strong impact they have created in the chess world
Unfortunately, it does not justify silently downgrading paid plans - especially without an option to get refunded pro-rated for a yearly plan.
The amount is inconsequential, but the lack of ethics behind this is a deal breaker.
Some good time spent here.
Let’s go!

Not a huge donation amount - just matching what I pay chesscom.
Hey @airtelindia @Airtel_Presence
Happy independence day!
Today is 15th August - which means you haven't yet honoured your own timeline of completing my request by 14th August.
Any plans on when you want to resolve my issue?
🚨 @BlueDart_ @BlueDartCares scam:
1. They pick up a package for me, to my pincode, which in their records is a serviceable area
2. They deny delivery saying location is not servicable
3. I raise a complaint to the central team - they tell me the package has a wrong pin code and actual pin code should be something else
4. I send them a screenshot of Google Maps showing my address and the pin code area - the pincode they’re claiming for my address is wrong. The package has correct address and pincode
5. Someone from Prayagraj team calls me and says sir we don’t deliver to your address. I confirm with him if my pincode is servicable.
He says “Bluedart has marked your pincode servicable but I will not provide service there”
🤣
So Bluedart will take your money, and then simply return the package because their field operatives deny going to a location.

THE WORST BANK FOR COMPANIES IN INDIA IS FOR SURE @AxisBank
How do you take over 2 weeks to close a bank account which had almost no transactions?
And this is the same account they never gave me internet banking for and I legit have to write cheques for every little thing
I will keep posting this every day until you close that account.
I have decided to document my ordeal with @AxisBank corporate account publicly because there's no easy way to get them to listen to the customer.
Here we go:
1. Nov 4 - I register a new company and Axis Bank Phulpur branch employees reach out to me for opening a corporate account with them. Entity registered in Prayagraj, UP.
2. I fill up the forms to open an account with them on 5th Nov, submitted, fly back to Bangalore next day.
3. 25 days later, account is yet to open, I go to Prayagraj for a week and come back and only after roughly 30 days I receive a welcome letter and a cheque book for the account.
4. I try accessing their internet banking, mobile banking and everything else - to no avail.
5. I contact the guy who did my account opening - Deepak Prajapati - informs me that I need to fill up forms for accessing internet banking separately and submit at branch.
6. I tell him that its impossible because I am in Bangalore and my father (other director) is unable to move due to paralysis post brain stroke, around mid Nov. So he tells me he will collect the documents from my place.
7. He never turns up. After waiting for a week, I reach out the folks at Whitefield branch of Axis bank and they tell me they cannot enable internet banking for me from here due to some new rules, must go to home branch. Another option is to transfer the branch first and then apply for internet banking here itself.
8. I ask for branch transfer to Whitefield - they tell me its possible and send me a list of documents to arrange for.
9. It takes me roughly a month to arrange for all the documents they require, finally I am able to submit them at Whitefield branch around first week of Feb.
10. After a week, they tell me they cannot process my branch transfer because they need to see a Bangalore address on the MCA provided documents of the company. This can take another 1-2 months and capital expenditure - but why?
Hence, over 4 months since opening my company, I am stuck with a bank account which can only be operated by cheque book. In the age of @_DigitalIndia, this is pathetic state of affairs.
I am tired of branch visits, I just want to run a business. What are my options? @MCA21India @FinMinIndia @RBI @ICICIBank @HDFC_Bank @AshwiniVaishnaw
Happy to switch the bank as well.

A revealing chat with my fellow “anti-national Soros agents.”
Vedant and his friends are brilliant, brave young Indians who asked CBSE and the Modi government simple questions - but got insults instead of answers.
They deserve a bright and secure future. We will make sure they get it.

Being wrong is easy, AI advice is easy
A PhD student at Stanford noticed her classmates were asking AI to write their breakup texts.
So she ran a study. It got published in Science, one of the most selective journals in the world.
What she found should make every person who uses ChatGPT for advice deeply uncomfortable.
Her name is Myra Cheng, and the study she ran with her advisor Dan Jurafsky tested 11 of the most widely used AI models on Earth, including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and DeepSeek, across nearly 12,000 real social situations.
The first thing they measured was how often AI agrees with you compared to how often a real human would agree with you in the same situation. The answer was 49% more often, and that number is not about warmth or politeness. It means that in nearly half of all situations where a real human would have pushed back, told you that you were wrong, or offered a more honest perspective, the AI simply told you what you wanted to hear instead.
Then they pushed harder. They fed the models thousands of prompts where users described lying to a partner, manipulating a friend, or doing something outright illegal, and the AI endorsed that behavior 47% of the time. Not one model out of eleven. Not a specific version of one product. Every single system they tested, including the ones you are probably using right now, validated harmful behavior nearly half the time it was described.
The second experiment is the part that should genuinely disturb you. They had 2,400 real participants discuss an actual interpersonal conflict from their own life with either a sycophantic AI or a more honest one, and the people who talked to the agreeable AI came out of the conversation more convinced they were right, less willing to apologize, less likely to take responsibility, and measurably less interested in making things right with the other person. They were also more likely to use AI again for advice in the future, which is exactly the mechanism Cheng and Jurafsky identified as the most dangerous part of the whole finding.
The AI is not just telling you what you want to hear. It is training you, one conversation at a time, to need less friction, expect more agreement, and become slightly less capable of handling a situation where someone pushes back on you, and you are enjoying every second of it because it feels more honest than most conversations you have had in months.
Jurafsky said it in a single sentence after the paper came out. Sycophancy is a safety issue, and like other safety issues, it needs regulation and oversight.
Cheng was more direct about what you should actually do right now. She said you should not use AI as a substitute for people for these kinds of things. That is the best thing to do for now.
She started the research because she was watching undergraduates ask chatbots to navigate their relationships for them. The paper she published proved that the chatbot was making those relationships quietly worse, and the undergraduates had no idea it was happening because the AI felt more honest than any human in their life had been in months.

Codex CLI with 5.5 xhigh - fails to understand simple things and assumed way too much.
plan mode on @opencode avoids these and makes the same model work much better.

IBM dropped Granite 4.1 family of models, beats Opus 4.6 on table extraction!
Here’s a fine tuned Granite 4.1 3b that speaks Hindi - because the base model doesn’t 🥲
74% better at Hindi conversations, perplexity from 7.3 to 1.85 🧠
