Today we are releasing Cloudflare OS, a chatbot with connectors, just like every other tech company is doing.
Except actually, it's different. This is a remake of Sandstorm[.]io, my startup from 10 years ago, except this time built on Cloudflare Workers (the platform I've spent the last 9 years building) and deeply leveraging AI. This is more or less the culmination of my secret 10-year master plan.
This is a full-on personal app vibe coding platform, in which the sandbox is so secure that you can pretty much go wild -- the AI cannot introduce a significant security bug. We believe a company's security team can feel comfortable giving non-technical users permission to vibe code and then sleep soundly at night.
How is that possible? It's the Sandstorm security model, revisited. A "Gadget" is the same thing as a Sandstorm "Grain": a fine-grained app instance. For example, if you have a document editor app, each document runs as a separate instance of the app, in a separate sandbox (one "Gadget").
This means two things, both of which I think are Big Deals:
1. The platform can manage all access control, by controlling who can access the Gadget at all. There is no way the Gadget can accidentally leak itself to an attacker -- even an attacker who has access to other Gadgets based on the same app.
2. Since everyone is running their own copy of the code, everyone can freely *modify* their copy of the code.
Think about #2 a bit more.
What if, when you wanted a new feature in the software you are using, you could just prompt your agent to add it?
This doesn't work in the cloud Software-as-a-Service model, because you are not running your own copy of the app.
Sandstorm tried to change that 10 years ago, but the world wasn't ready, because not enough people had the skills or patience to actually modify their software. AI has changed that. Now you just ask the agent -- the same agent that you are using to help you interact with the Gadget can also modify the code of the Gadget.
And it is so fun.

I was clearly wrong about Anthropic. They are obviously currently the leader in AI. No company has released a model as good as Mythos/Fable and they will undoubtedly have Mythos 2 ready soon.
And I would never cut them off in a way that hurt them badly, even as a competitor. That’s not my style.

FIRMA DIGITAL DESDE TU CASA. ¿Querés firmar un documento de manera digital con validez legal y sin moverte de tu hogar? ¡Ya se puede! Este tweet es para contarte como hacer. ¡Gracias Córdoba por hacerlo posible!
Paso 1. Tenés que hacerte Ciudadano Digital de Córdoba (cidi.cba.gov.ar/portal-publi…, ver foto). Esto lleva dos minutos y no necesitas residir en Córdoba.
Paso 2. Tenes que bajarte la aplicación de Ciudadano Digital de Córdoba en tu celular y validarte en Nivel 2 (cuando la abras vas a ver el botón para hacerlo). Te va a pedir foto de tu documento y fotos tuyas para verificar tu identidad. ¡Ya casi estás! (Hacelo con mucha luz.)
Paso 3. Una vez que estás validado Nivel 2, vas a la página: Firma.cba.gov.ar (ver foto), y encontrarás un link para firmar documentos (tienen que ser PDFs) que es, literalmente, una boludez de fácil. Tené tu celular a mano porque te va a pedir una doble clave de validación.
Una vez que firmes el documento te bajas el PDF firmado. Si necesitas que otra persona firme te permite poner su CUIT y le llega un mensaje advirtiéndole del pedido (para firmarlo también tiene que estar en el sistema). Lo firma y te aparece a vos su firma. Es más, ¡te avisan por mail cuando la otra persona firmó!
Cuando el presidente @JMilei emitió el Decreto 743/24 que permitía levantar la firma digital de manera remota, yo pensé que los certificadores privados se tirarían de cabeza para ofrecer esto y hacer este negocio. Porque para las empresas es un salto de productividad enorme. Como ejemplo, una empresa de alquiler de autos me decía que con esto eliminan los trámites en papel y en los aeropuertos simplemente entregarán los autos ya que el cliente vendría con todo firmado. También pensé que @Mercadolibre lo haría porque ya tiene la validación, el software no es complicado y tiene mucha transaccionalidad que se beneficiaría de documentos firmados digitalmente. Pero nada de esto ocurrió. Para nosotros fue una sorpresa.
Pero por suerte Córdoba se animó. Gracias al Ministro de Economía de esa provincia @GcAcosta que armó esto con Pablo Mina Director de la Dirección General de Inspección de Personas Jurídicas de esa provincia y el equipazo que tienen que nos voló la cabeza cuando nos mostraron el sistema. Ojalá se convierta en un estándar nacional. Hoy somos todos cordobeses! VLLC!
