Inspired by the @e18e_dev community and recent optimisations we've landed in @storybookjs, we're starting a full out project to decrease the size and dependency count of Storybook. 🚀🤏 github.com/storybookjs/story… Any feedback or help is welcome 🙏 Join us in the e18e Discord too!

I'm happy to announce "Introduction to Zig: a project-based book" as my next work, which is under active development 🥳🎉🎉🎉. This is a book 📖 about the Zig programming language, which is a modern, general-purpose, and low-level language 🧐. #ziglang github.com/pedropark99/zig-b…

Here’s the thing folks. I’ve been coding 32 years. When something like this happens it’s an organizational failure. Yes, some human wrote a bad line. Someone can “git blame” and point to a human and it’s awful. But it’s the testing, the Cl/CD, the A/B testing, the metered rollouts, an oh shit button to roll it back, the code coverage, the static analysis tools, the code reviews, the organizational health, and on and on. It’s always one line of code but it’s NEVER one person. Implying inclusion policies caused a bug is simplistic, reductive, and racist. Engineering is a team sport. Inclusion makes for good teams. Good engineering practices makes for good software. Engineering practices failed to find a bug multiple times, regardless of the seniority of the human who checked that code in. Solving the larger system thinking SDLC matters more than the null pointer check. This isn’t a “git gud C++ is hard” issue and it damn well isn’t an DEI one.

We're introducing a new API, but we're working on adding back support for the existing API behind a legacy flag. xitter.cf/xeho91/status/18127156…

Storybook's Svelte support is being overhauled for Svelte 5! Take a look here for an early sneak peek and to provide any feedback: github.com/storybookjs/addon… I'm also excited by the work happening to make @storybookjs smaller and faster to install and run.
Replying to @KasperPeulen
Most of our remaining deps are related to express. Removing that in a backwards-compatible way is hard but certainly possible for 9.0! @43081j is helping us with that!

A historical day for CSS 😀🎉 If you write any components used and/or styled by others, you know how huge this is! background: if(style(--variant: success), var(--green)); Even if you don’t, this will allow things like: padding: if(var(--2xl), 1em, var(--xl) or var(--m), .5em); GitHub issue: github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/…

Spot on, on most of the parts! Keelung and Taipei both have extremely dangerous and wild road culture. You must always remain vigilant and never put your trust in anyone on any kind of a vehicle. Too much wildcards 🥲
