Aero and Uni are still useful for bootstrapping new tokens and getting initial liquidity up, but even that mostly needs active market makers in the mix. Once a pair has real flow, the math gets harder for passive LPs. Curve-style pools auto-concentrate for you, which is better for people who don’t want to babysit ranges, but you still eat the IL. Aero emissions often don’t fully cover that cost either. You can always just bootstrap with your own token’s emissions too. Yield Basis is interesting because it tries to give passive capital the price exposure of holding the asset while still earning fees, without the classic IL drag. Prop AMMs keep taking the tightest flow with even tighter spreads. Launchpads (Pump.fun and the ones Uni and others have rolled out) have already captured a lot of the pure meme/new-token volume that used to go through general DEXes. Aero can still win on certain new-token launches and multi-chain liquidity, but that lane is narrower than it was. The middle ground of “public AMM + emissions for mostly active LPs” is getting squeezed from both sides. @yieldbasis @aeroxyz

So the @aeroxyz migration was definitely a sell the news event as base:0x3f5bf3edac59d650d8fdf9657a71f2f904a3a4ee is free falling worse than the broad market. The solidly model is useful to boostrap liquidity and works well in a new market but not in an entrenched one. Aero is already moving towards a uniswap model for LP where they can now choose to receive the fees instead of $AERO emission. Which is almost an admission that the emission model is not sustainable long term. $AERO holders will continue to bleed to subsidize LP growth until it moves completely towards a fees based model over time, like uniswap. Then the competition will be based on DEX technology & features attributes.

These pools are gud tech (YieldBasis WETH first, BTC next): - the pool now knows the real market price using an external oracle (Pyth here) - trades that bring the pool back in line with the market pay lower fees - the pool still keeps most of the profit from those trades - backtest: ~3x more volume, LP returns almost 3x Constantly impressed by Curve and their ethos: - make passive LPing profitable for anyone - all liquidity is fungible, so every position is an ERC20 - they do the hard math so you can earn and chill

a new chapter for AMMs. proposal #60 brings a permissionless propAMM approach to yb-WETH. higher trading volumes, tighter spreads and yield across different market conditions. special thanks to our friends at @metricxyz for the valuable feedback that helped shape this upgrade. yieldbasis.com/proposal/60

8.5% APR on ETH coming soon to @yieldbasis with new updates. This assumes all LPs don’t stake and no organic flow. In reality, this will be MUCH HIGHER 🚀 YB will soon be making a lot of fees. With the new settings It would have made at least 1.38M / yr in fees. Just on the ETH pool!!! This can scale to at least 4x fees for this single asset. That would have made 5.5mil in fees for veYB. Thats $0.055 a YB currently, Now imagine what happens when you add the other 3 BTC pools and new assets???

Formally verified yield that beats the benchmark rate (ETH staking) and is permissionless, trustless, and has no intermediaries is a HUGE differentiator. @yieldbasis + @CurveFinance How do you build a moat around it though? Create a system of credit that is trusted, stable, and permissionless. ethereum:0xf939e0a03fb07f59a73314e73794be0e57ac1b4e Now you can scale this safe and permissionless yield system to trillions.

Not sure people realize the potential of YB. It’s a truly passive, permissionless, yield strategy that avoids impermanent loss. Earn 4-7% on your BTC. Take a liquidation protection loan against it. Outside of pure isolated lending, it’s the only true passive source of yield. No intermediaries. No tricks. No high risk collateral. No exogenous yield. Vaults require “capital management”. Efficient lending requires “risk analysis” Basis trades requires outside arbs. LPing requires sophisticated liquidity management.
Well efforts should be diversified. Good work on llamalend collaterals (RWAs?), new ideas around interesting assets (like stocks), larger llamalend leverage possible with few tricks (like 50x on btc likely) - not just YB (although YB potential is enormous). And not just for hedging: different market regimes are best for different parts of the business, and we don't want revenues to have strong seasonal patterns.

Things coming soon for @yieldbasis 1. Dynamic fees for better earning 2. Better earning in all market regimes (more revenue and better concentration) 3. Borrow against ybLPs to loop and earn even more. All of this aimed to dramatically increase profit of pools and therefore veYB holders. This is real profit on a working strategy in production for over year. Completely permissionless and soon formally proven.

Pretty much that. I think a good way to have a response to that (which is what I am doing) is propelling @yieldbasis, and maybe also reducing crvUSD stablecoin pool fees once that is well working

You don’t have enough ethereum:0x01791f726b4103694969820be083196cc7c045ff What happens when @yieldbasis pools earn on ALL volatility, not just big moves? iykyk.

You showed them!
🇹🇼🇨🇳 Taiwan hit a Chinese fishing boat with a water cannon after it refused repeated orders to leave restricted waters near Dongsha Island. Then things took a surprising turn: • 3 radio warnings were ignored. • Taiwan’s Coast Guard used water cannon to force the boat to move. • The vessel then lost power. • Taiwan confirmed all crew were safe. • Coast Guard personnel delivered 35 hot meals to the stranded crew. • The boat was later towed out and handed over to a Chinese support vessel. Firm enforcement — followed by a helping hand. 🇹🇼 #Taiwan #China #SouthChinaSea

If this new propAMM can actually use the idle liquidity to quote tight spreads and start taking volume it’s kid of game changer for @yieldbasis. YieldBasis pays to much for rebalancing and if they try to offset that with fees, the pools can get kinda stuck until higher volatility. Even with tight spreads, if they can earn fees in tight chop these can help rebalance the pool and then allow YieldBasis to earn much more without spending on rebalancing so much.

@yieldbasis is cooking up a new propAMM to increase volume. @newmichwill is speaking in #token2049 Thinking some alpha will be shared. Should I buy tickets?!

I think the point of the post (not well articulated) is that it’s VERY difficult to know if a hook is going to rug you are not. V4 hooks have made it a lot harder to automatically route to new pools for users. You almost have to have an allowlist. But then as an aggregator competing for users, you will lose volume for new meme tokens on new pools.

One of the greatest viruses of the modern man is looking at Instagram Stories. You will melt your brain looking at a barrage of outcomes—like vacations, parties, cars—with no visibility of the process that got them there.

A malicious hook doesn't need a UI to scam you. 👉 It just needs to look like the best quote. After analyzing over 84,000 v4 hooks, we determined only 19% of hooks to be safe. It's time to get real about hooks.
