For the entire month of October, I'm going to make it a goal to either show, or dance to music that is not funk, g-funk, or anything similar.
The goal out of this is creative growth; I should not stay comfortable dancing to tracks I know/the style I do.
I want to highlight something that happened months ago. @Wefow1 invited me out to #TheRaveFactoryVR to show up and dance with some people. I was dancing with Wefow and then someone named @Mex_Carmine came up to me and invited me to a cypher that was forming.
Mex wanted me to dance with everyone, and I did. Something clicked in my mind and told me, "Don't show off, just connect with everyone. Don't be technical, just be groovy and connect." And that's what happened; made many friends over at Rave Factory and memories were made.
I did not ANYONE there except for Wefow at the time, but after that night...I made so many friends. And reconnected with one individual from MANY years ago. Because of Rave Factory, I also got back into DJing for #vrchatcommunity ! Thank you guys for an awesome time!
youtu.be/fy7kL3Otc7E?si=6peS… I come back to this video specifically because of one statement. "These judges, they are dancers first ya'll! Dancers first! It don't matter the style; it don't matter the music; they just get down!" And I think that should be the case.
This video inspires me a lot because it shows that the judges get down even if it's not their music and/or style. Dancers like Tasha, Super Dave, Tyler D Creator, Slim Boogie and more all got down to different tracks. It inspires me to do the same to try different songs & dance.
