NEWS: xAI's Grok 4.5 has constructed an explicit counterexample to hypercontractivity on the 4-sphere, solving a mathematical gap that previously existed between dimensions 4 and 12.

NEWS: The Trump administration has proposed a new Federal Trade Commission policy statement to challenge state AI laws, specifically targeting regulations that the agency claims could allow companies to distort model outputs for undisclosed ideological objectives.
The proposal follows a December 2025 executive order that created a DOJ AI Litigation Task Force to challenge state-level regulations, and it specifically cites a Colorado law that prompted a lawsuit from xAI, Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company.
According to Stateline, the FTC proposal aims to address concerns that subverting AI systems for ideological ends constitutes deceptive consumer practices, providing a federal mechanism to challenge state laws that require alterations to truthful model outputs. lexingtonky.news/2026/07/10/…
INSIGHT: Regarding privacy concerns about the new "Confirm with Palm" feature that accounts can use if they are locked on suspicion of being an AI bot:
- there is always the option of using face ID, which is entirely on device.
- it works with gloves
- does not transmit any identifying information

NEWS: Elon agrees the algorithm needs an overhaul. Changes may include reducing Reddit-like toxicity, and increasing posts from people you follow.

NEWS: The British government is expected to announce a ban on social media for under-16s, aswell as a curfew for 16 and 17 year olds.
The ban is expected to include X, as well as Youtube, Meta, Reddit and more. However, the list does not currently include Bluesky.
It is also said to include livestreaming and some uses of AI chatbots such as "AI girlfriends"

NEWS: Following soon after the deal with Anthropic, now Google has also signed an agreement to pay SpaceXAI almost $1 billion a month. Like the previous deal, it can be terminated with 90 days' notice.
SpaceX has just announced that they have entered into a $920 million per month agreement with Google to provide compute capacity, according to a new filing.
"On June 5, 2026, we entered into a Cloud Service Agreement with Google with respect to access to compute capacity. The customer has agreed to pay us $920 million per month from October 2026 through June 2029, with capacity ramping up through September at a reduced fee. The compute capacity provided includes approximately 110,000 NVIDIA GPUs, CPUs, memory, and other related components.
After December 31, 2026, the agreement may be terminated by either party upon 90 days' notice. The customer will retain ownership of, and intellectual property rights in, its content, Al models, and related data."
INSIGHT: Good piece on issues with the current X algorithm, and reflects complaints we've been seeing in recent weeks.
NEWS: X has been carrying out another sweep on bot accounts.
However, this ban wave also seems to be targetting some authentic, smaller accounts based on what we've seen users report over the last week or so. Hopefully X can detect and reverse some of these bans.

NEWS: SpaceXAI has released its IPO prospectus.
The document reveals that, under the deal announced this month, Anthropic is paying SpaceX $1.25 billion per month through May 2029 for access to compute capacity at Colossus.
The figures also reveal how much money xAI is spending on AI capex: the Q12026 figure annualizes to $31 billion a year, while revenues are running around 10x lower.
