THE GOOD NEWS CT IGNORED AFTER BINANCE HACK
The Binance hack dominated every headline and sent Bitcoin below $77,000, but the days that followed showed that the industry kept building and moving forward.
🚀 Hyperliquid became the standout winner
While BTC fell below $77,000, $HYPE jumped 15% after Intercontinental Exchange, the owner of the NYSE, announced a partnership with Trade .xyz to bring Hyperliquid powered perpetual futures to the US market, pending regulatory approval.
Standard Chartered also argued that the Binance incident could accelerate a structural shift toward decentralized exchanges, keeping its $100 target for $UNI by 2030 and suggesting the forecast may even be conservative.
That is a powerful narrative: a major centralized exchange failure can push traders and institutions to look more seriously at decentralized infrastructure.
🏛️ Institutions kept showing up
Even during the selloff, institutional crypto did not disappear:
• $XRP ETFs ended October with $18.8M in net inflows and $1.42B in net assets, surpassing Solana ETFs.
• Bitcoin ETFs still recorded a positive week overall, with IBIT attracting $565.7M in inflows and driving $301.2M in weekly net inflows.
• Franklin Templeton launched Bitcoin DRIP ETFs, creating another institutional on-ramp for steady Bitcoin exposure.
• Michael Saylor signaled that Strategy may resume Bitcoin accumulation, calling the next bull market underway while BTC traded near $78,000.
🌐 Major chains kept advancing
The incident did not stop development across the largest networks:
• Solana’s Alpenglow upgrade, its biggest network change since 2020, went live with a 150 millisecond finality target, strengthening its case for payments and settlement.
• Ethereum strengthened its role as institutional infrastructure after JPMorgan expanded JPM Coin to the network, enabling institutional clients to make payments and settle tokenized asset transactions onchain.
• Polygon expanded its Open Money Stack with Solana support, while its onchain FX pool for EURe and frxUSD went live on Uniswap v3.
• DTCC launched a tokenization service on Canton Network and its private Besu blockchain, covering roughly $30 trillion in market value with 20 Wall Street firms signed up, including JPMorgan, Citi, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America and UBS.
🛡️ DeFi held up
Aave also resumed deposits and borrowing across all V3 and V4 markets after a precautionary freeze, showing that major DeFi protocols were able to contain risk without a broader systemic break.
🎯 Bottom Line
The hack was a stress test for crypto. Liquidity froze, prices dropped and fear spiked, but stablecoin issuers, DeFi protocols, exchanges and investigators coordinated quickly to contain the damage.
Meanwhile, the structural drivers stayed intact: ETFs, tokenization, stablecoins, institutional custody and decentralized infrastructure.

🧨 CRYPTO TANKED AND THE BINANCE HACK WAS THE TRIGGER
Crypto had an ugly day. The kind of day where price collapses fast, stop losses get hit and a lot of people realize too late that they were more leveraged than they should have been.
The trigger was the Binance hack. The exchange reported a security incident with an estimated impact of $6.3 billion, with around $3 billion in assets frozen as the investigation continued. Binance said it would cover customer losses, but the damage was already done.
BTC touched $77,000 and every altcoin felt the hit, with one surprising exception: Hyperliquid. While the entire market was bleeding, HYPE jumped more than 15%, reflecting traders looking for a decentralized alternative amid the confidence shock around Binance.
🌍 The ground was already shaky
The hack hit at a time when global markets were already in risk off mode.
In China, stocks entered a bear market, with cumulative losses approaching $2.4 trillion.
In the United States, Alphabet/Google took a brutal hit after earnings. The stock dropped more than 12%, wiping out roughly $500 billion in market value. When a megacap takes a punch like that, the whole market feels it.
In Brazil, the unexpected election result triggered capital flight. The Ibovespa crashed and the real came under heavy pressure, depreciating more than 10% in a single day.
In other words, crypto was already trading in a risk off environment. Binance lit the fuse.
📉 Why did it fall so fast?
Because it combined everything the market hates:
A confidence shock at the world’s largest exchange. Liquidity leaving. High leverage. Stops getting triggered. Liquidation cascades. And an already heavy macro backdrop.
When that happens, price moves down much faster than any analyst can keep up with. Unpredictable events like this catch everyone by surprise, but the environment was already setting up for a drop.
🎯 My first target was hit
$BTC went straight into the area of my first target, at $77,500
After years studying and investing in this market, I learned how to read the moves in both bull markets and bear markets. Each phase requires a different set of indicators, and that is what allows me to bring more precision and confidence to my analysis for you.
Volatility is part of the game. What separates those who survive from those who blow up their accounts is having a method, managing risk and knowing that the market will always find a way to test everyone’s patience.

⏳ THE NEXT BLACK SWAN IS TAKING SHAPE
While we watch charts, a message is spreading across governments and media feeds:
Prepare to survive without the system.
Water, food, medicine, cash, power banks, radios and even a torch.
Why?
Not for a camping trip...
👇
Governments know the system is fragile, but they can’t say it outright. Admitting that vital infrastructure could fail for days would trigger panic and a crisis of confidence.
Civil preparedness is also a political shock absorber. In a blackout, cyberattack, blockade or military escalation, prepared households reduce pressure on hospitals, supermarkets, police and public services. In other words: the citizen becomes part of the defense infrastructure.
NATO and the EU are preparing for a prolonged-conflict scenario, not just storms. NATO explicitly says civil resilience must keep essential services running “during crisis and conflict.”
The moment is dangerous because multiple triggers are active simultaneously: the Israel–Iran and Russia–Ukraine conflicts, US military presence in the Gulf, global cyberattacks, elections and political instability.
“Get prepared” is also a warning without declaring an emergency. Governments rarely say: “something very bad may happen.” Instead, they issue manuals, campaigns and timelines that prepare populations without triggering immediate panic.
And this is where the conversation shifts to money.
In a serious crisis, the issue isn’t just losing power. It’s losing the networks that move money, information and value.
If undersea cables are cut or local infrastructure goes offline, entire regions can be disconnected in minutes.
That’s why satellite connectivity matters.
Providers like Starlink are building networks of thousands of satellites in low Earth orbit, connectivity that doesn’t depend on a single cable, central hub or ground-based chokepoint.
Satellite signals are harder to cut and less exposed to physical sabotage than submarine or underground cables.
And connectivity is financial infrastructure.
If banks and payment networks rely on centralized rails, a network failure can freeze access to capital.
Crypto offers a parallel layer:
▸ Can move across borders without asking a bank for permission.
▸ Self-custody means your assets don’t depend on a branch or card machine working.
▸ A hardware wallet and recovery phrase work even when banks don’t.
▸ Stablecoins settle value in minutes when legacy rails are slow, censored or offline.
None of this means fiat disappears tomorrow.
None of this confirms a collapse.
If governments are quietly planning for days without stable infrastructure, the real risk is figuring out, too late, that access to your own capital depends entirely on systems you don’t control.
Are you prepared?
🏦 FED HOLDS, NO CLEAR PATH
The Federal Reserve kept rates unchanged at 3.75% to 4.00%, as widely expected. The statement reiterated the commitment to bringing inflation back to 2%.
That was the asymmetric outcome discussed earlier this week: the market had already priced in a hold, so the real risk was an unexpected hike, which could have triggered a sharp repricing across risk assets.
Geopolitical tensions remain a major variable. The conflict in the Middle East keeps oil prices elevated, reinforcing inflation expectations and constraining the Fed’s ability to ease policy. The latest EIA report added to that pressure: US crude inventories fell -1.9M barrels, leaving stocks 4% below the five-year average. Any escalation could quickly reverse the current relief across equities, commodities and crypto.
BTC reclaimed $80K ahead of the decision and held near $81K. The move came as US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $286M in net inflows over Monday and Tuesday, reversing part of the nearly $774M withdrawn late last week.
The next variable is December. The Fed left the door open, but did not commit to a hike. Until inflation, oil and geopolitical risk give a clearer direction, expect volatility rather than a clean trend.

Looking ahead: Tomorrow’s calendar includes US GDP, PCE and initial jobless claims, alongside the ECB rate decision in the Eurozone. The PCE print and labor data are key inputs for the Fed’s next move.

⚖️ MARKETS ARE CONVERGING
BTC slipped below $80K as risk appetite deteriorated across global markets.
The immediate driver was a repricing of the AI trade. Investors are questioning whether the capital spending behind AI infrastructure can generate returns fast enough to justify current valuations. That concern hit technology equities first and spread into crypto through lower risk appetite, margin pressure and ETF outflows.
US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded roughly $773M in net outflows over Thursday and Friday, reversing most of the week’s earlier inflows. Leveraged long liquidations amplified the move.
The selloff was not limited to the US
Global equities closed the week lower.
▸ Japan’s Nikkei fell about 5%.
▸ Europe’s Stoxx 600 lost more than 1.5%, its steepest weekly decline since early September.
▸ China’s CSI 300 closed lower for an 11th consecutive week.
The common factor is broad de-risking: AI funding concerns, higher energy costs, persistent inflation and rising sovereign stress, especially in French bond markets.
Commodities reinforced the signal
Gold fell about 4% last week and briefly broke below $4,000 per ounce for the first time since mid-July. Silver declined more than 5% to its lowest level in nearly a year. Platinum, palladium and copper also weakened as investors reduced exposure across risk assets.
Gold is typically treated as a hedge against monetary stress. When gold, silver and crypto decline together, the market is not rotating out of one asset class. It is reducing overall risk exposure and increasing cash holdings.
Oil led the move
Brent crude rallied to a five-month high near $117 after supply-disruption concerns in the Middle East. Higher energy prices keep inflation expectations elevated and limit the scope for central banks to ease policy quickly.
The result is a difficult environment for risk assets:
▸ Growth concerns from the AI and equity selloff
▸ Inflation pressure from oil
▸ Higher-for-longer rate expectations
▸ Weaker Bitcoin ETF demand
This was not primarily a yields-driven repricing. The 10-year yield held near 5%, but equities, oil, ETF flows and derivatives positioning deteriorated simultaneously.
The Fed is the key near-term catalyst
Market pricing currently assumes rates will remain unchanged. That makes the meeting asymmetric: a hold is largely priced in, while an unexpected rate increase could trigger a sharp repricing across equities, bonds, commodities and crypto.
If the Fed signals a more restrictive path, the current risk-off environment could intensify. If it holds, markets may get temporary relief, but that would not remove the underlying pressure from oil, inflation and global deleveraging.
BTC is testing a new Fibonacci zone
BTC is now testing the 0.786 to 1 Fibonacci zone, where I previously set one of my buy orders. A single bounce is not enough, BTC needs at least a week of consolidation, with spot demand absorbing supply and preventing another wave of forced deleveraging.

🪂 AIRDROP FOR $BTC HOLDERS
eCash (ECX) is a planned Bitcoin hard fork designed to activate Drivechains, sidechains anchored to Bitcoin through BIP-300 and BIP-301.
Their goal is to unlock privacy, scaling, and DeFi apps while preserving Bitcoin’s base-layer rules.
👇
What are Drivechains?
A Drivechain is a sidechain linked to a main blockchain. In the eCash ecosystem, users can move ECX into a “vault” on the main chain and use a represented version of that value on a sidechain, where different rules and features can be applied.
The model relies on two components:
▸ BIP-300 (Drivechains): defines how funds move between the main chain and the sidechain. Withdrawals depend on a miner-voting process over an extended period.
▸ BIP-301 (Blind Merged Mining): lets Bitcoin miners help secure sidechain blocks without running a full node for that sidechain or validating all of its content. They receive fees from sidechain block producers in exchange for including a commitment in a Bitcoin block.
In practice, this design aims to bring new functionality through sidechains without requiring every miner to run additional software. Still, it involves technical and governance trade-offs, and execution depends on the fork actually activating.
What is $ECX?
ECX is the native asset of the new eCash chain created by this hard fork. It is not an ERC-20 token. Distribution happens directly on the new network based on the BTC balance recorded at the snapshot.
The announced ratio is 1 BTC = 1 ECX, including fractional balances.
📌 Snapshot: Oct 31, 2026, around block ~973,728
🪙 Distribution: 1:1 with BTC balance per address
There is no action required right now, no registration and no pre-claim. Your BTC remains on the Bitcoin network and is not moved, converted, or locked. ECX is created as a separate asset on the eCash chain, initially associated with the same addresses.
ECX is not XEC
• ECX is the asset of this Bitcoin hard fork, associated with Drivechains and the 1:1 distribution to BTC holders.
• XEC is the ticker of the existing eCash project, which originated from the Bitcoin Cash ABC lineage and was rebranded to eCash in 2021.
What to do before the snapshot?
To access ECX directly, the main requirement is holding BTC in self-custody, with control of your private keys, at the time of the snapshot.
If your BTC is on an exchange or with a custodian, receiving ECX depends entirely on that platform’s official policy.
What to do after the fork?
The most important step happens after the fork: Replay Protection is optional, not automatic. Do not rush to take any action, wait for official guidance.
How Replay works: if you move BTC before separating the assets, the same transaction could be replayed on the eCash network and send your ECX to whoever received the BTC.
Security and Cautions
❗️Never share your seed phrase. No legitimate step in this fork requires sharing, typing, or importing your recovery phrase.
❗️Be skeptical of early “claims.” The project says there is no claim, form, or registration before the snapshot.
❗️Do not connect your wallet to websites simply because they promise to “unlock ECX.”
❗️Verify links and software only through official, verified channels.
❗️Be careful with multisig and advanced setups: do not improvise with recovery material, wait for specific technical guidance.
REMEMBER: A fork does not guarantee value, liquidity, exchange listings, or returns.
THE PRESSURE IS BUILDING, BUT CRYPTO IS STILL STANDING
The US economy is facing an uncomfortable combination: inflation is moving higher, energy remains expensive, and investors are questioning the debt behind the AI boom.
The surprise is that crypto has not broken down as sharply as that backdrop might suggest.
_____
INFLATION is narrowing the Fed’s options
September CPI rose 3.7% YoY, up from 3.4% in August. Core inflation, which excludes food and energy, increased to 2.6% from 2.4%. The problem is not just that inflation remains elevated, it's that progress toward lower inflation has started moving in the wrong direction.
That puts the Fed in a difficult position.
Keeping rates high helps restrain demand, but it also keeps borrowing expensive for households and businesses. Raising them again could add more pressure. Easing too early risks allowing inflation to become harder to control.
The risk is a squeeze from both sides: higher living costs and tighter financial conditions.
_____
OIL is making that trade-off harder
WTI has surged to around $101 a barrel, narrowing the gap with Brent at $110. Elevated oil prices add another obstacle to bringing inflation down.
Higher energy costs make transportation and production more expensive, squeeze business margins, and leave consumers with less money to spend elsewhere.
Supply concerns tied to the Middle East conflict and uncertainty around Russian fuel exports continue to weigh on the outlook.
_____
THE AI trade is facing a financing test
The question is whether revenue will arrive quickly enough to justify the spending and service the debt behind it.
Nasdaq lost roughly 4.5% last week as concerns about AI-related debt hit technology stocks. Monday brought a rebound, but that recovery does not resolve the underlying financing questions.
The IMF has highlighted the connections between AI investment, borrowing and future revenue commitments. Its review of 14 transactions identified approximately $300 billion in equity investment and $650 billion in debt linked to $1.4 trillion in future revenue commitments.
The concern is a feedback loop: weaker revenue expectations hurt valuations, make financing harder and lead companies to cut investment. If that pressure spreads into broader credit markets, a stock-market problem can start affecting hiring and the economy.
That is how market stress could turn into a recession risk. It does not mean a correction alone proves a recession is already here.
_____
CRYPTO is holding up
Against that backdrop, Bitcoin’s ability to recover above $82K on Monday was notable. Still, we should separate what we can observe from what we can only infer.
One possible explanation is that the immediate stress is concentrated in AI equities and their financing. That does not mean crypto has disconnected from stocks or eliminated its own leverage risk.
There are also real developments beyond price. JPMorgan’s expansion of JPM Coin to Ethereum gives approved institutions another route for onchain payments and settlement.
The useful distinction is that crypto can keep developing while remaining vulnerable to tighter financial conditions.
_____
OCTOBER 28: The next major checkpoint
The Fed meets October 27–28, with its rate decision scheduled for October 28.
The decision matters, but so does the message.
As of this morning’s CME FedWatch snapshot, markets were pricing a 17.16% chance of an October hike. For December, the probability of a 4.00%–4.25% target range stood at 94.77%.
Markets still favor a hold in October, but strongly expect rates to be higher by December. If the Fed holds, upcoming CPI, PPI, core PCE, and jobs reports will deserve close attention.
For crypto, an October hold would not automatically be bullish. If the Fed leaves rates unchanged but signals another hike ahead, Treasury yields could rise, putting further pressure on risk assets.
A less aggressive message could provide breathing room. An unexpected hike could trigger a sharper repricing.
For now, caution makes more sense than assuming a hold means the pressure is over.
🤖 Made with AI
ICYMI:
🏦 JPMorgan expands JPM Coin to Ethereum
Approved institutional clients can use tokenized dollar deposits for around-the-clock transfers and settlement. For retail, this is another way for institutional money to move on public blockchains.
🔐 Deutsche Bank says crypto custody is weeks away
The planned service starts in Germany with $BTC and $ETH. It gives institutional clients a route to hold crypto through an established bank, reducing the need to build their own custody infrastructure.
⚖️ 9 companies push back on tokenized shares
Broadcom and Verizon are among those objecting to trading on OKXICE. If you trade tokenized stocks, watch which listings actually receive clearance. A platform’s expansion plans do not guarantee every stock will be available.
🚨 Cysic suspends its bridge after an exploit
An attacker reportedly minted 10 million unauthorized $CYS tokens. For users, the immediate issue is interrupted cross-chain transfers; for holders, it is uncertainty over how the unauthorized supply will be handled.
💳 Mastercard and BVNK launch the Global Money Platform
Banks and fintechs can integrate fiat and stablecoin payments through one API. For customers, this could bring stablecoin features into familiar financial apps, but availability and fees depend on each provider’s rollout.
📊 INFLATION IS HEATING UP AGAIN
US September CPI came in at 3.7% (YoY) vs 3.6% expected. Core CPI reached 2.6%, above the 2.5% forecast.
That gives the Fed less room to ease. Holding rates steady looks easier to justify, while another hike remains a risk.
Treasury Curve
2y: the clearest signal of changing Fed expectations.
10y: a key benchmark for borrowing costs and valuations.
30y: a gauge of longer-term inflation concerns and the premium investors demand.
Higher yields would make the backdrop tougher for growth stocks and crypto.
Oil adds pressure. Earlier quotes put Brent around $106 a barrel and WTI around $96. Sustained strength could keep headline inflation elevated, but the core surprise cannot be blamed on energy.
📢 UPDATE - THE PRESSURE IS BUILDING
PPI YoY: 6.3% vs 5.3% expected
PPI MoM: 1.3% vs 0.6% expected
Core PPI YoY: 5.0% vs 4.4% expected
Core PPI MoM: 0.7% vs 0.3% expected
_____
Hot PPI adds to yesterday’s CPI warning, keeping pressure on crypto. If Treasury yields rise as markets price a tougher Fed, BTC and altcoins could face another leg down.
A break below support could trigger leveraged-long liquidations, creating forced selling and amplifying the decline.
For the Fed, back-to-back inflation surprises strengthen the case for keeping rates elevated and could raise the odds of another hike on October 28.
Not a guaranteed hike, but another reason to stay cautious.
🎯 POSITIONING RISK
Options traders turned bullish: 0.56 puts per call, in the lowest third of 2026. Call premium exceeded puts by $17M/day over the past month.
But liquidation clusters sit below: $82.3K (already hit), $79.6K (nearest), then $60K–$63K (heaviest).
Fail to reclaim $82K → $79.6K is next.
🧠 THE READ
The $85K breakout lacked volume, fresh demand and follow-through. A hawkish Fed and sticky inflation add pressure to an already fragile setup.
Reclaim $82K, then $85.5K with volume → $92K comes back into play.
Fail to reclaim $82K → $79.6K is next, with larger liquidation clusters still sitting below.

But hold on...
Before you go all-in on stocks of companies building orbital data centers, the skeptics have a point:
"Launching stuff into space is still insanely expensive. Cooling chips in a vacuum isn't trivial. Radiation wrecks electronics. And space junk is already a problem."
It's a "moonshot" in the literal sense, a long-term bet with a real chance of going wrong.
Still, it's hard not to get excited.
If it works, AI stops competing with entire cities for electricity and starts feeding directly from the sun.
Less strain on power grids, more computing power available, and a creative answer to a problem that's only going to grow.
The sky, literally, is no longer the limit.
