Teach economics to kids Iโm serious
I get that this take wins internet points, but in real life strangers DO participate.
As a millennial dad, I canโt tell you how many times Iโve told my kids โdonโt bother peopleโ only for the stranger to be like โno no, itโs okay.โ So I feel like everyoneโs a little complicit.

The dad seemed to think we would be really excited to participate in his child rearing with him lol. These people learned about the concept of โit takes a villageโ from the internet and now expect help total capitulation from strangers
I have this vision of a toy thatโs a supply and demand graph where you can push either curve and it moves the equilibrium price.
I know this can be easily illustrated with an animation, but I want it to be a physical toy.
Would you buy something like this??
For anyone interested in studying real examples of 180 degree rule violations that confuse the viewer, vertical series are rife with them because they notoriously donโt shoot enough coverage.
Replying to @salty_armpit @jeremylovesyall
Exactly. This is a principle used to not confuse viewers particularly when a dialogue scene is taking place. Action jump cuts don't really count as they're far less confusing.
Might be a hot take, but I think we donโt publicly shame NIMBYs enough.

This is not a 180 degree rule break.
But the scene in Obsession where Nikki is backlit in Bearโs doorway is.
One of the more aggravating things about being a Britney fan is the way everyone who works for her has always treated us like we were born yesterday.

what was the "monkey paw" with the billion dollar wish. Yea Ian dies but we didn't see what his negative situation would have been
I have a question about CD13.
Both Dylan Kendall and Rich Sarian, in the HAC debate and in interviews with YIMBY LA, said there isnโt much R1 in CD13. Is this true?
Weโd assumed that Hugo Soto-Martinez buckled under pressure from Hancock Park to vote against the CHIP amendment.
I met my husband walking from downtown LA to the ocean on the @greatlawalk

Two groups stand in the way of housing affordability: those who donโt want it (NIMBY) and those who donโt believe in the solutions (Left NIMBY).
Which group is more problematic?

this is why iโm a YIMBY.
i want a world where you can be a creative, builder, or someone following their dreams and be able to live.
rent seeking is so out of control that you have to be perfect to live with dignity.
that isnโt how you grow an economy or culture.
Nephews visited LA when they were 3 and 5, and we had to explain homelessness to them.
Never had to explain to my kids because theyโve witnessed it their whole lives.
Replying to @JohnGonzalesLA1
Talked about this w some new friends last night and their take was that the kids just kind of become blind to it after a while (which is v sad in its own way)
