Our last official event for #BaseballAcrossMN weekend is announcing the MSHSBCA scholarship winners.
We had almost 40 applicants and it was incredibly difficult to rank these fine student-athletes.
Thank you to all who applied and congratulations to our 12 winners.

A grand slam from Cruz Sturm in the third inning helped lift @wtbaseball2023 to a 13-7 win over Maple Grove today.
The Trojans have been red hot the last 12 days. 7-1 record. 10+ runs scored in five of those games. Have only allowed an average of two runs during that stretch.

Noah Filer will anchor the Wayzata pitching staff as their ace this season. The Purdue commit was dominant last year, posting a perfect 7-0 record over 47 innings while allowing just 26 hits and 13 walks. He struck out 67 and maintained an impressive 0.887 ERA, helping his team secure a third-place finish at state. The Trojans will lean heavily on Filer’s right arm, and the future Boilermaker will look to replicate—or surpass—his stellar performance from last season.

The @wtbaseball2023 team is coming off a 26-1 season and third place finish in class AAAA last spring. The Trojans did graduate some key players but they also return a good group from that Lake Conference and Section 6AAAA championship team.

The goal is clear for Wayzata—win the conference, take the section, and make another state tournament run. The path likely won’t be 26-1 like last year, but the Trojans are ready to compete for it all.
