Britain built the world's first programmable electronic computer. ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง Not in a university. In a Post Office. Watch the full story. ๐ŸŽฅ Tommy Flowers was a bricklayer's son from the East End. There was no money for university. So he went to evening classes, year after year. ๐Ÿ“š In the war, Hitler sent his most secret orders by teleprinter. Scrambled by a machine even more complex than Enigma. Breaking one message by hand took weeks. โณ Tommy had a better idea. A machine built from fifteen hundred glass valves. The experts said they'd never last. One senior codebreaker wanted him taken off the work for "squandering good valves". ๐Ÿ™„ Bletchley wouldn't back him. So he put in some of his own money. ๐Ÿ’ท Eleven months later, Colossus read the enemy's messages at five thousand letters a second. Weeks became hours. โšก On 1 June 1944, five days before D-Day, a bigger Colossus went to work. It showed Hitler had swallowed the bait. He still expected the landings at Calais. ๐ŸŽฏ After the war, the machines were broken up. Every drawing was burnt. ๐Ÿ”ฅ The government gave Tommy a thousand pounds. It didn't cover what he'd spent himself. He still shared it with his team. The Bank of England turned down his loan for another one. They didn't believe it could work... He couldn't tell them he'd already built ten. ๐Ÿค Everyone's heard of Silicon Valley. Hardly anyone has heard of Dollis Hill. ๐Ÿ“ Today a rebuilt Colossus runs again at Bletchley Park. You can stand beside it and hear it. ๐Ÿ›๏ธ Now we're told this country can't build anything any more. Tommy proved them wrong once. Help us switch Britain back on: proudofus.co.uk/support ๐Ÿ’ก Be part of us. โ˜๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง Be Proud Of Us. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

Absolutely spot on John ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡
The biggest interferences in the Brexit referendum were: 1. Project Fear, led by a Canadian Governor of the Bank of England and enthusiastic globalist, who'd prefer nations didn't exist. 2. A Remain campaign lavishly funded by the EU and several global donors. 3. A President of the US, Obama, who stated Britain wouldn't get a trade deal with the US if it left the EU. 4. A mainstream media overwhelmingly pro-Remain, including the BBC, ITV, C4 and Sky. All worked in favour of the Remain vote. Shall we *now* talk about Russian interference?

Lol, Woman brings in family heirloom from the civil war which they think is a slaves bracelet, turns out to be a dog collar. Even better? Slave bracelets never existed. The look on her face at the end is pretty close to priceless. This is on the list of never not being funny.

Minnesota Democrats celebrate as Governor Tim Walz signs a controversial bill into law. Critics are raising serious concerns about what the legislation means for protections afforded to newborns. Read the bill. Know the facts. Every child deserves protection. New born infants being terminated after a live birth.

๐ŸšจBREAKING: Elon Musk has a message for the people of Britain: "I want Britain to be greater than it ever has been. I want Britain to remain Britain. I think there's something beautiful about being British. And what I see happening is a destruction of Britain, initially a slow erosion, but a rapidly increasing erosion of Britain with massive uncontrolled migration, a failure by the government to protect innocent people, including children who are getting gang raped. It's unreal the government has failed in its duty to protect its citizens, which is a fundamental duty of government. This has got to stop. There needs to be massive reform. The people need to be in charge, not some bureaucracy that doesn't care." @elonmusk

I know many of you will disagree with me on this, and thatโ€™s OK. We can disagree and still respect each other. I fully support the death sentence for the Fort Hood shooter. My objection is to turning that execution into a live spectacle for public entertainment. Supporting the punishment does not mean I have to support broadcasting it. Thatโ€™s where I draw the line.

Having watched much of the Tory conference and listened to Kemi Badenoch's closing speech I predict a resurgence in the polls for RUK. The Tories are done, arrogant, unrepentant, and duplicitous. The wets have more control than ever.

The Germans who witnessed the atrocities committed by Muslims against Christians during the Ottoman period in Greece wrote: "The murder of the men and the drowning of the women was still not enough for a Muslim Turk thirsting for Christian blood; the poor innocent children were also to be sacrificed. So he had the defenseless little ones seized and mercilessly hanged from a tree. Comfortably the monster smoked his pipe beneath them, had himself served with sherbet, and rejoiced in the cries of fear and the death agonies of the guiltless little ones, for they were, after all, only โ€” Christian children" "Grรคuelscenen aus Griechenland" "Atrocity scenes from Greece." From the 1820s by the Nuremberg publisher Friedrich Campe.
