As it’s Christmas Eve (for many people) we wanted to share a truly magical story about charitable giving, sustainability, international cooperation and the singular power of the bicycle to bring joy to the world! ❤️🌍🚲
We recently visited the HQ of the incredible @BicycleCharity in the UK to meet @WeAreCyclingUK “100 Women in Cycling 2025” winner Charlotte Ward, the Exec Director of the charity.
Charlotte and her team work closely with brilliant partners like @Halfords_uk to recycle and reuse thousands of secondhand bicycles in the UK. They are individually refurbished and sent to seven projects across Africa to be shared with children and adults who need them most. Over 160,000 bicycles have made this journey to a second life. Impressive!
Kudos to Halfords and its shareholders for this commitment to sustainability and ESG. Without the resources and expertise of the team at Re-Cycle, many of these bicycles would be thrown away.
