I've enjoyed picture book author Marianne Richmond's HOW TO WRITE A CHILDREN'S BOOK blog series @write_practice This article is about illustrations. Do you need to draw them? A common question from aspiring children's book writers. #childrensbook thewritepractice.com/how-to-…

How do you write a great ending? More practically, how do you actually finish your book once you've gotten 1/2 to 2/3 of the way through? I recently worked with an author who was great at coming up with ideas but absolutely fell apart when it came to finishing. My advice? 🧵

I routinely read other writers' manuscripts and I am regularly amazed by how much raw talent there is waiting to be discovered. Many are unagented, but some have found agents. The only difference is that the agented writers have professional advice in edits. A 🧵 of 10

Finally managed to hit 7,000 words in a day and wrapped up the rough draft of Monastery Tales. Excuse me while I pass out... 😴 #WritingCommunity #thewriteplan P.S. I love this planner from @write_practice

Love stories are, by far, the most common type of subplot in films, series, and novels. And there are two elements of every love story subplot you absolutely must have. #amwriting 🧵

I haven't done an #digitalpainting in a long time. Admitted a little rusty, but feels good to get back to it. This is definitely the best drawing of Astra (MC of my novel Headspace) I've done. #writingcommunity #photoshop #digitalart #art #illustration

Practice.
Replying to @kaleighf
3. Good writers practice writing. They read a lot. They make notes on what they like in the things they read. They ask for feedback from other writers they respect (+ act on the edits they’re given.) They never settle on the first draft of anything. You should do the same.
