When I start a new manuscript, this is how I track my progress and hold myself accountable. Need a lot more green days than red. If I stick to this modest pace, my first draft will be complete sometime in November/December. #amwriting #writingcommunity

Picture of a poem: Your first? When there’re no kicks, you worry. Heart-rate’s erratic: you fret. Is this cheese safe? Is the apple cider pasteurized? Every scan, you just want to hear she’s healthy. You fear the worst. Hope for the best. Are relieved when hopes are relayed. But it’s not yet over. She’s not yet out. So worries return. It’s been a while since there’s been movement. Twenty minutes since the last kick. You should call the doctor. Drink some orange juice. Maybe the sugar will help. And when the doctor picks up, of course, she kicks.
