While in a new relationship, I got a text that my ex, who I thought ghosted me, actually passed away.

Self studying and practicing art every day for five years to the point of blind obsession, to the point of looking at a piece which took months of diligent work, sweat and tears to create only to sit, stare at it, and conclude:
“Good. And now that I’ve done warming up my hand, I can redraw a clean version of it.”
