There is a scan of 146 Vaults on @Morpho shows ~$1.3B in book value controlled by a single EOA or 1-of-1 Safe, plus another ~$305M outside the official app with zero Timelock.
More importantly, book TVL can be inflated. The 1337 USDC Vault rose from $182M (Sep 22) to ~$283M (Oct 13)
@Bitquery_io 's research conclude this as a result of Stream Finance-related sdeUSD/USDC zombie markets: depeg → oracle failure → no liquidation → continued interest accrual → inflated NAV/TVL.
This only expose more risks from oracles. Oracle failures does not only cause immediate liquidation losses, but can also leave unrecoverable claims on the books indefinitely. Continued interest accrual on these claims can distort TVL, APY, and Vault Share Price while single-key control combined with zero Timelock can allow rapid changes to Vault configuration.
I'm a bit surprised how little attention @paxoslabs' PAXGy has received since its September launch, even after @LlamaRisk's Aave assessment.
Gold is a $31T market, with over $15T in investable assets. Yet gold lending remains largely an institutional business. PAXGy is trying to change that, packaging yield from real-world bullion lending into an asset which retail users can access, and maybe DeFi protocols can accept as collateral.
But LlamaRisk's assessment raises some interesting questions:
- Credit concentration: One borrower accounts for nearly two-thirds.
- Loss absorption: Unrecovered defaults reduce the PAXGy/PAXG exchange rate for all holders. There's no junior tranche to absorb losses first.
- NAV & liquidation: Offchain credit losses don't wait for onchain accounting. NAV markdowns require a pause and a 24h+ timelock. The proposed Aave CAPO caps positive exchange-rate growth at 6% annually, but an accountant pause can also interrupt pricing and liquidations.
- Redemption: Secondary trading is open, but direct minting/redemption is restricted to KYB-whitelisted institutions. Retail holders take gold and credit exposure without equivalent direct redemption rights, relying on still-thin secondary liquidity.
One more interesting to notice is that, PAXGy is currently deployed only on Ethereum and X Layer, with a strong OKX ecosystem focus. The distribution strategy looks deliberate, although liquidity remains concentrated.
The challenge isn't creating another yield-bearing token. It's making the underlying credit risk, NAV and redemption rights trustworthy enough for everyone else.

AI coding is not sexy any more
AI drug is the new king now
First anthropic have their drug team, then OpenAI, now bytedance as well. Who is next?
AI Drug Discovery Is Becoming a Bottleneck Trade
I get excited when an industry starts going through a real regime change. AI drug discovery (“AIDD”) increasingly looks like one of those moments.
Two things are happening:
1/ Upstream: the frontier AI labs are piling in.
2/ Downstream: The supply chain is clearly moving.
Supply-chain checks suggest the upstream picks-and-shovels of discovery and early preclinical R&D are starting to feel the increase in experimental volume.
DNA → protein → assays → sequencing → automation → preclinical testing
Names across that stack include $TWST , @GenScript , $ILMN , $TXG , lab-automation vendors and CROs.
$TWST expects triple-digit percentage growth in AI-enabled drug-discovery orders in FY26, and another year of triple-digit order growth in FY27.
@GenScript's AIDD business doubled YoY in 1H26. Its current platform advertises industrial-scale validation of 4,000+ designs/day, with integrated sequence-to-data workflows. Our channel checks suggest the ramp is moving even faster: roughly 8,000 designs/day currently, with a path toward ~16,000/day by YE26.
---
Why does AI drive more wet-lab demand?
1/ AI makes hypothesis generation almost free → way more shots on goal.
The bottleneck is moving from expert-driven design to biological validation.
2/ AI models need continuous experimental feedback — and both good and bad data are useful.
Traditionally, only the highest-conviction A+ candidates might get pushed into expensive validation. With AI, even the B/C candidates can be valuable because failed experiments generate training data.
@GenScript has said its sequence-to-binding workflow can return data in 4–7 days, and that faster cycle times matter because AI models depend on continuous experimental feedback.
@Anthropic is a clean example. @claudeai designed 1,320 protein binders. @adaptyvbio converted those digital sequences into DNA, expressed the proteins and tested binding. Only 354 actually bound. And the 966 failures are not wasted. They are useful negative labels: what does not express, what does not bind, what has poor affinity. Those results help train the next model iteration.
3/ Wet labs are no longer just making drugs. They are making training data.
$TWST / @GenScript increasingly look like biological data foundries.
$TWST explicitly talks about generating model-ready data from AI-designed sequences. In some workflows, the customer may care less about receiving the physical protein than about getting structured experimental results back into the model.
Traditional drug discovery asks: “Does candidate X work?”
AI drug discovery also asks: “What can this experiment teach the model?”

TAM of AIDD
If AI is simply a better R&D tool, the relevant spending pool is the $300–400B of annual global pharma R&D. If AI meaningfully increases the number of viable drug programs, the opportunity is larger because it expands downstream demand for DNA synthesis, protein production, assays, and preclinical work.
Near term, we can also size demand from AI-company spending. If Anthropic reaches $80B of ARR in 2026 and spends just 1% on AIDD, that alone would imply ~$800M of annual investment.

Trade setup
This is a trade that could have long legs. It’s hard to really stop working until PhaseI/II results (2028+)
It smells a lot like the bottleneck trade we just saw in semis: GPUs → HBM → networking → power/cooling. In biology, It basically follows the drug discovery process downstream: AI models → designs → DNA/protein → assays → preclinical capacity.
After the upstream picks-and-shovels, animal testing could become the next bottleneck. Monkey prices are already near prior highs and CRO capacity is tight. AIDD pushing more candidates into preclinical development would only add demand.
?? But clinical trials are still the bottleneck?
This is the biggest pushback I keep coming back to. No matter how fast discovery becomes, drugs still need to go through preclinical → Phase I → Phase II → Phase III → approval. You still need patients, time and capital.
But that doesn’t mean the bottleneck trade won’t work. More viable candidates — especially with higher success rates — still means more demand throughout the development process.
And who knows: clinical trials themselves may eventually be optimized by AI.
?? What breaks the trade?
Near term, the picks-and-shovels trade breaks if experimental budgets stop growing, AI-generated designs don’t translate into useful wet-lab hits, or capacity catches up too quickly.
Longer term, the thesis breaks if AI drugs look great in discovery / Phase I but fail at normal rates in Phase II/III. That is why Phase II matters so much.
?? Milestones
Late 2026–2027: first Isomorphic-designed drugs enter human trials; more AI-native programs move into IND-enabling work / tox.
2028–2030: clinical trial results start telling us whether AI-designed drugs actually perform better than conventional drugs.
Calling all the "bottleneck bros". :) @jukan05 @zephyr_z9 @aleabitoreddit @ParadisLabs

Former “South Park” writer Toby Morton has launched website (TheCornell7.org) to expose seven Chi Phi fraternity members named in a civil lawsuit alleging they drugged and gang raped a 20 year old female student at their Ithaca house in October 2024.
Morton said the site will also target Cornell staff and administrators he believes let the accused off too easily. He plans to add their names, photos, and other details as he gathers them, arguing that accountability should reach the people who handled the case, not only the seven men named in the lawsuit.

Coinbase “lost” $25m of my firm’s a couple years ago. Turned out they were actually covering up massive and repeated hacks. Still wouldn’t return our money. We traced this to at least a dozen other affected firms and over $1b covered up. That’s all I can say for now as multiple legal processes still ongoing.
Crypto is one of the most fastest growing financial market in history.
And this acquisition will only accelerate the growth.

Looking at Robinhood Chain’s meme boom over the past two months has made me better understand why
@star_okx
has consistently refused to use official influence to push memes.
If you don’t rely on memes to create wealth effects, what can @XLayerOfficial offer to turn the $1.7B in stablecoins already on-chain into sustained demand from DeFi, developers, and users?
This question is especially interesting for X Layer.Because @XLayerOfficial and @RobinhoodCrypto Chain are doing the same experiment. Both already have massive financial user bases, trading infrastructure, wallets, and asset distribution capabilities.
Nonetheless, neither of them followed the path of “first build a chain, then go find users.” The problem they need to solve is how can they move those capabilities onchain.
Ultimately, @XLayerOfficial should build an ecosystem of its own, like @BNBCHAIN
Many people look at @BNBCHAIN and only think of memes, Four.meme, or @binance traffic.
But I believe the hardest thing to replicate about BNB is the builder funnel it has accumulated over a decade.
@BNBCHAIN and @BinanceAcademy have run complete developer specialization programs.
One set alone consists of 20 courses.
By Season 9 of MVB, it had already incubated approximately 147 projects
about 75 projects from the first eight seasons had received institutional funding.
There is also the @BnbIncubator Alliance, hackathons, Launch-as-a-Service, VC networks, Demo Days, and more.
In other words, it is not:
“This year we’ll spend $300K on one hackathon.”
It is:education → developer → hackathon → accelerator → capital → launch → liquidity → distribution running continuously.
To be fair, @XLayerOfficial is not starting from zero. This year’s publicly announced Build X Series has already included at least five rounds:Hook, X Cup, World Cup, AI Genesis, AI Season, plus Super Nova, which offers Wallet/DEX integration, 1:1 mentorship, a VC funding pipeline, and an ongoing application process.
The real issue is:It has not yet formed the kind of multi-year, continuous ecosystem machine that BNB has, where you can predict where the next batch of applications will come from.
Moreover, some of the current Launch Grants still tie KPIs directly to OKX DEX volume:
Every full $10M in volume unlocks $50K, up to a maximum of $200K. The official program even specifically includes anti-wash-trading reviews.
This mechanism can generate activity quickly. But it also naturally incentivizes builders to optimize for:“How do I hit $10M in volume?”rather than:“How do I still have 20% of users coming back to my product after 30 days?”
The ecosystems that grow out of these two approaches will look very different.
So imo, to define the next stage for @XLayerOfficial , the problem is not “should we embrace memes or not”
Memes can exist.
A permissionless chain should allow the market to choose for itself. @star_okx does not need to personally shill anything, nor does he need to put OKX’s brand credit behind any token.
But X Layer does needs to solve three problems that memes originally helped public chains solve:
1. How capital is used.
Turn the $1.7B in stablecoins from passive balances into lending, fixed income, RWA collateral, credit, trading, payments, and structured yield.
At the same time, bring in professional risk layers such as Steakhouse or Gauntlet so that institutional capital is willing to stay.
2. Where projects continuously come from.
Upgrade the current Build X / Super Nova into a year-round builder supply chain: education → accelerator → OKX Ventures / external VCs → product mentorship → liquidity → Wallet placement → DEX distribution.
Gradually shift the core KPIs of grants from raw volume to 30-day retention, organic fees, TVL retention, cross-app users, and incentive-adjusted volume.
3. How the community captures wealth effects without sacrificing OKX’s trust.
The official team does not pump tokens, but it can build neutral launch infrastructure, creator economics, permissionless markets, fair discovery, and Wallet distribution.
Let the market create the wealth effect, rather than the exchange deciding who should go up.
This may be the most interesting fork between X Layer and Robinhood Chain.
@RobinhoodApp_EU has already proven that:Permissionless speculation can generate activity, fees, and attention extremely quickly.
@star_okx has chosen the road less travelled. Not relying on official promotion of short-term speculation, but hoping that real financial demand will ultimately become the on-chain economy.
I don’t think this choice itself is wrong.
In fact, looking at ICE’s investment in OKX, NYSE tokenization efforts, and the Wallet / DEX / Exchange distribution OKX already possesses, X Layer theoretically holds a better starting hand than the vast majority of public chains.
