Here’s a clearer, step-by-step fix to my earlier take on “removing 4 zeros” for $QUBIC.
I oversimplified it to just “buy coins or burn coins.” Reality is more nuanced. Let’s learn together 👇
1) Market cap ≠ cash in the coin
Market cap = last traded price × total supply. If 1 token trades at $10 and there are 100 tokens, market cap shows $1,000 even though only $10 actually traded.
2) Prices move on the margin, not with market cap
Price is set by the last trade. With thin order books, a relatively small buy can sweep asks and lift the price a lot. That can add hundreds of millions to market cap even if only thousands or millions of dollars traded. Impact depends on liquidity and order-book depth, not on market cap.
3) Burn math correction
At a price of $0.00000229, burning ~129.987T coins is worth about $298M (price × amount), not $298B. I was off by 1,000×. Thanks to those who pointed this out.
4) “Remove 4 zeros” via supply math (illustrative)
If price is $0.00000229 and market cap is ~$298M, then reaching $0.0229 at the same market cap implies circulating supply around ~13B (because $298M ÷ $0.0229 ≈ 13B).
That does not require $3T of new money; it implies a dramatically smaller effective float (through burning, locking, or otherwise restricting tradable supply). This is a theoretical snapshot, the real market is messier.
5) How price can move beyond “buy or burn”
Order-book dynamics: Removing big sell walls or thin liquidity can let small buys move price far.
Float reduction: Lockups, staking, vesting, or liquidity withdrawal can shrink the tradable supply even without permanent burns.
Cross-venue effects: One high trade on a thin venue can anchor the reference price that others follow (until arbitrage/flow resets it).
Narrative/flow shocks: News or structural changes can pull in aggressive takers while passive liquidity steps back.
6) Practical takeaway
Market cap is a calculation, not a bank balance.
Dollars needed to move price scale with liquidity and depth, not linearly with market cap.
Burn value = price × amount (I fixed that).
“4 zeros gone” would require either extreme price impact in thin books, or a much smaller effective float… or both.
If you have solid models or on-chain/OB data to quantify the actual liquidity needed here, drop them below.
Is @c___f___b bluffing about $QUBIC?
He hinted he could instantly remove 4 zeros from the price.
But when you run the numbers, there are really only 2 options to get there:
1. Buy coins
2. Burn coins
Let’s break it down 👇
📊 Current data (24 July 2025, when CFB made the statement):
Price: $0.00000229
Supply: 130 trillion
Target price (“remove 4 zeros”): $0.0229
BTC price: $120,000
Option 1: Buy coins
Target market cap = price × supply
= 0.0229 × 130T
= $2.98 trillion
That’s ≈ 24,808,333 BTC at $120k each (impossible).
So to get there just by buying… nearly $3 trillion needed.
Option 2: Burn coins
Current market cap = 0.00000229 × 130T
= $298 million
To reach $0.0229 at the same market cap, supply must drop to:
297.7M ÷ 0.0229 ≈ 13B coins
So burn ≈ 129.987 trillion coins.
Value of that burn at today’s price = $298 billion (≈ 2,483,333 BTC).
⚖️ The problem:
CFB once mentioned he holds ~400,000 BTC.
At today’s price that’s $48 billion.
Even if he market buys with all of it, that’s not even close to the ~$3 trillion needed.
So either:
There’s another mechanic at play, or
The claim of “instantly removing 4 zeros” doesn’t add up with pure math.
❓Am I missing something here? Can anyone who’s deeper into tokenomics/market mechanics explain if there’s another way this could be true or is it just impossible with the current numbers?

When you push the limits of a network, you always face a choice.
During Qubic’s Monero experiment, CFB had the power to go further — to push beyond the 9-block reorg limit. Crossing into 11 blocks would have opened the door to something dangerous: potential double spends against exchanges. Funds could appear both inside an exchange and still in a user’s wallet.
That kind of maneuver could have caused real damage to #Monero. But it didn’t happen.
Instead, the ceiling was set deliberately at 9 blocks. Enough to test resilience, but never enough to cross the line into exploitation. It’s a reminder of intent: this was a stress test, not an attack.
The lesson is simple but powerful: true innovation doesn’t need to destroy to prove its strength. $Qubic showed it can bend the rules of mining coordination — yet chose not to break the ecosystem it was testing.
Sometimes, the most telling sign of vision is not what you can do, but what you consciously decide not to.
