my dad was a physics teacher in a top school in jakarta, where almost 80% of its attendees go to top schools abroad.
He published books, worked multiple jobs.
But he had to cry in the kitchen bc at the time he didnt have the heart to tell me that he couldnt even afford my uni.

Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar says that teaching is a noble profession and a form of amal jariyah, not merely a means to earn money:
“Guru itu tujuannya mulia, bagaimana memintarkan anak orang itu tujuannya, bukan cari uang. Kalau mau cari uang jangan jadi guru, jadi pedagang lah.”

Dear International Media,
Please take a closer look at the damage caused by the Government, which has been kidnapping activists, reminiscent of the dark days of 1998.
We appeal to you to witness how our democracy now stands at a critical risk!

We met @AndovidaLopez among the protesters yesterday at the front of the @DPR_RI building and he shared his views with @RT_com.
“This has been a culmination, a culmination of bad policy, near empathy, no empathy from the people who are saying, bad communication from the government, efficiency to the bottom, but the top is still going abroad, without whatever how much budget they have. This is not a specific moment. Yes, Afan Kurniawan's death, when he was rolled over by the tank, gave the light to the fire, but that light to the fire isn't something that was instantaneous. It was something that was built over time. And if you want to distill these actions, these demands, in three words: transparency, reformation, and for God's sake, some empathy.”
