People in Gaza have exhausted means of survival. Hunger & malnutrition are claiming lives, & destruction of food production systems has made the situation dire. Our priority must be safe & sustained access for large-scale food assistance. Access to food is a basic human right.
Famine is confirmed for the 1st time in #Gaza, @theIPCinfo warns.
Over 500,000 people are affected, with conditions projected to spread further.
@FAO @UNICEF @WFP @WHO urge an immediate ceasefire and full humanitarian access to stop deaths from hunger.
