"Temporary and manageable." Add it to the pile: temporary lira, temporary inflation, temporary market crash, now a temporary fund freeze. Manageable is new though; bold to introduce a second adjective after four years of one.

📌 Hazine ve Maliye Bakanımız Sayın Mehmet Şimşek başkanlığında 17 Eylül 2026 tarihinde toplanmıştır.
📌 Toplantıda, sermaye piyasalarındaki son gelişmeler ele alınmıştır. Bu çerçevede, piyasalardaki hareketliliğin, sınırlı sayıdaki portföy yönetim şirketlerinin uhdesindeki bazı fonlarda yaşanan kredi ve likidite sorunlarından kaynaklandığı değerlendirilmiştir.
📌 Borsa İstanbul’un ve sermaye piyasalarımızın işleyişine ilişkin temel veya yapısal bir risk bulunmamaktadır. Sorun, fon piyasasının belirli bir bölümünde yoğunlaşmakta olup geçici ve yönetilebilir niteliktedir.
📌 Bu çerçevede Komite; piyasaların sağlıklı işleyişinin sürdürülmesi ve makrofinansal istikrarın korunması amacıyla alınabilecek tedbirleri değerlendirmiştir. Bu kapsamda gerekli tüm tedbirler ilgili kurumlarımız tarafından süratle uygulamaya konulacaktır.
📌Kararlaştırılan tedbirler, başta likidite sıkışıklığının giderilmesi ve bulaşma riskinin önlenmesine yönelik olacaktır. Diğer taraftan piyasa bozucu eylemlerde bulunduğu belirlenenler hakkında düzenleyici ve denetleyici kurumlarımız yetkilerini kararlılıkla kullanmaya devam edecektir.

Hopefully, the “NEW Party” will quickly shed the weight of the CHP’s political inheritance. Turkey needs modern, forward-looking politics; not the baggage and reflexes of the past. Otherwise, the NEW Party risks failure, and Turkey risks more Erdoğan. #Turkey
So much for the #Erdoğan–Trump bromance. #Turkey still gets hit with a 12.5% tariff; because in Trump’s world, there are no special relationships, only transactions. It’s always a zero-sum game.

#Turkey: Holding rates was the only sensible decision. Inflation remains sticky, the energy and geopolitical outlook is highly uncertain, and fiscal policy is no longer supporting the disinflation effort.
Yet the #TCMB has still not acknowledged the central problem: disinflation has stalled, and the outlook is becoming more, and not less, uncertain. The gap between the evidence and the narrative is growing.

TURKEY/Trade: The U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) has proposed an additional 12.5% tariff on imports from Türkiye after placing the country among those deemed to have insufficient measures against imports made with forced labor. The proposal is part of an ongoing Section 301 investigation and is not yet final. A separate tariff framework is also being considered for textiles, apparel and footwear. Public consultations continue ahead of a final decision expected in July, making the outcome particularly important for Türkiye's labor-intensive export sectors. #Turkey #Trade #Tariffs #Textiles #USTR
