#Princesshay From Notaries House, we see tourists daily trying to get to the Cathedral via steps by Café Rouge & Margoux to a dead end. Please put signage up to state “No Access To Cathedral”. Elderly people & large groups struggling down & then up the 21 steps is not good.
Contemplating spray foam insulation to your attic? RICS guidance for the consumer is a valuable read. #sprayfoaminsulation #RICS rics.org/news-insights/rics-…
We highlighted this issue 2 years ago. Spray foam insulation causes long term damage irrespective whether the contractor is good or bad. bbc.co.uk/news/business-6360… #sprayfoaminsulation
At this time of chaos theory governance, figures show a slight decline in house prices, though there is still pent up demand outstripping supply. Surveyors diaries show a correlation. We are still busy despite the upset.
Apparently, gazumping is still happening. Just shows even in a cost-of-living crisis, high demand for SW living.
For general matters relating to party walls, please see the new RICS consumer guide 2022. For specific advice, please get in touch! ricsfirms.com/media/1294/par…
New guidance from Residential Property Surveyors Association highlights risks with spray foam insulation applied to underside of roofs. In writing what we already know - Don't Do It!
A good read, and very relevant at this time.
At a time when the national future is on people's minds, here are a few things about the past we learned from the first half of @jameshawes2's The Shortest History of England. Not necessarily 'lessons', just things... It's a wonderful book. 1/17
Having spray foam roof insulation installed? Be mindful it could prevent a house sale, it will rot the roof timbers, it will be more expensive to replace the tiles and it does create an awful mess when removed! #sprayfoaminsulation #roofdamage
The volume of survey enquiries may be slowing down before Christmas, though we are still booked solid until January. Will @RishiSunak extend the SD holiday? We think it would be a good move if he did, esp. for 1st time buyers.
Interesting how recent enquiries have gone from "how much for a survey?" to "when can you survey?" Demand to live in the SW is very high right now. #Exetersurveys #housesurveys #liveindevon
A client has pulled out of a house purchase as our survey found problems with movement to do with blown cavity wall insulation. Turns out, the engineer nephew/executor to the estate said he wouldn't buy it either! Always best to have a survey. #housesurvey #cavitywallinsulation
This is a big thankyou to #DavidThomas and #JamesOldham of #Bluegrass Computer Services.
Living on the edge of Dartmoor and like so many in this fantastic area of the South West, I have had to put up with woeful internet speeds of less than 1Mbps for too…lnkd.in/gqX-uwt
It would be great if big corporations would pay their bills. Sitting on large cash reserves is not a good way to demonstrate Corporate Social Responsibility at this critical time.
Very pleased today. Worked hard to achieve a good result for a tenant dilapidation client - over 70% of original claim reduced!
We love Devon longhouses. We also love cities. Fantastic London from the Shard. Certainly is 'Bright Lights Big City'!
Yes, you can see details at high level using binoculars during a house survey, but a camera pole really helps clients visualise issues in a report far more clearly. No need for drones! #workinghard #workingsmart
Love curry. Loved the cookery course with the fantastic tuition given by Bini @sweetcumin A great day, we made some wonderful food! Can't help but highly recommend the course. Her curry is that good.
Great night at the @ExeterBizClub quiz. We won!! with a little help from phil-collins.co.uk/about and friends Catherine & Alex Rees-Stephan. Great cause, in aid of @CEDAexeter #exeterbusinessclub #cedaexeter
