Booster Outcomes
NEW: Orange line shows COVID infections among unvaccinated 70+ citizens in Israel. Blue line shows COVID infections among vaccinated 70+ citizens. It couldn't be starker. Among the triple vaccinated, the pandemic comes to a virtual halt. Graph from @GazitDoron.
Nylon Knowledge!
More solutions to help synthesize the information flowing through communities would be extremely appreciate 🙏 any recommendations?
Would you or any of the crew be interested in having the event Summer 2021? Should be all vaccinated and Covided-out by then. And an online something, SD or SoCal, around Feb?
Certainly plausible, but perhaps of limited applicability?

Very Strong Placebo!
A lot of misinformation is being shared about the death of a vaccine volunteer in Brazil. Here's what we know so far: - Doctor, 28, died of COVID-19 complications - He is reported to have received a placebo, not the vaccine - Oxford University: No safety concerns, trial continues

Positive news on vaccine effectiveness in older people.
Good to see COVID-19 vaccine clinical trial data for people > 55 yr old (Phase 1), because older people are at greatest COVID-19 risk. Similar vaccine neutralizing antibody levels in all age groups, for at least the Moderna candidate vaccine. That's good news.
Robust T cells to all!
Outstanding paper on T cell responses to SARS-CoV-2 published today by Buggert and colleagues. (Pre-print was posted previously). Robust T cell immunity in convalescent individuals with asymptomatic or mild COVID-19. bit.ly/31Wh5AO @CellCellPress

Shane Goes Viral on Bad Info!
1/ There are various tweets misinterpreting COVID-19 “pre-existing immunity” and making dangerous claims about herd immunity. Since many of those claims refer to our scientific papers, we will reiterate the facts. @SetteLab @ljiresearch @ScienceMagazine @CellCellPress
