I have been a season subscriber at the @VancouverOpera for a few years now and have loved every show, but last night's performance of #Tosca easily is my favorite. @JoyceSoprano as Floria and Gregory Dahl as Scarpia were standouts. Bravo! I may go again...

I read a lot of specs while at Mad Chance, but I remember a horror one, "The Prospector", the most because I was cramming it in before heading to work on 9/11/01 when my employer called from a remote surfing camp in Mexico to confirm what he was hearing was true (no TV there)

A dedicated team of filmmakers and animators have rendered an ingenious and impressive feature. Will kids who are unfamiliar with vintage Warner Bros. cartoons respond to all of this? I have no idea and as an outside observer with no skin in the game, I don’t much care. I‘m just happy to see my favorite cartoon characters back on the big screen

I'm glad some of you like current Star Trek, and I wish you all the joy of it. But I want something VERY DIFFERENT from my science fiction series and something VERY DIFFERENT from Star Trek than this. Farscape was great. I don't need Farcape in Star Trek. Buffy the Vampire Slayer was great. I don't need Buffy in Star Trek. Game of Thrones was great. I don't need it in Star Trek. Harry Potter was great, I don't need it in Star Trek. Rick and Morty is great, I don't need it in Trek.
I get that we live in a world now where when you go to the bookstore, there's one shelf of science fiction that's mostly film and TV tie-ins, and then like ten shelves of fantasy romantasy superhero teen identity fiction. And yes, I UNDERSTAND what they're doing here—I've been watching films, TV series, and Star Trek for a very long time. But I'm a simple cave person in my tastes: I want actual SCIENCE FICTION in my science fiction, and I want STAR TREK in my Star Trek. That's all I ask. This blending of every genre into every other genre, and blending every franchise into every other franchise ain't for me. I'd like 80% more Gene Roddenberry in Star Trek, and 80% less Joss Whedon please.
One of the reasons Classic Trek was so popular was they didn't try to do a version of it for every taste. They made it universal and they made sure there was a place for everyone in it without patting themselves on the back for it. And then they got about the business of telling great Star Trek stories, not doing endless gimmicks. Tell great Star Trek stories. Show us a world of the future that we'd all want to live in, where everyone works hard to grow and learn, to explore, and to build a better society for all.
Start there.🖖

STAR TREK has a massive talent problem. The only qualified writers working today who could write great TREK are creating their own original programming. The SNW crowd has spent season four just ripping off movies they’ve already seen because they have no original ideas.

OYO Las Vegas has been my number one “worst hotel in Vegas” for ages. It’s dirty, smells bad, unsafe and things are always broken. Ariana Patiño knew that and was tricked into to staying there with a fake hotel under the name Palette using AI imagery, reputable travel sites & attractive affordable rates. This is a new low & is incredibly predatory. Would love to know your thoughts, @VitalVegas and @LasVegasLocally #vegas

If you’re a fan of the film (and care to import the UK SKU), this is a nice 4K Ultra HD package. But I do wish @WBHomeEnt would make these Collectors’ Editions available to US disc fans as well. @thedigitalbits

Well, @Criterion's October slate does not disappoint! @thedigitalbits 1/2
I’ve been following @thedigitalbits and @BillHuntBits since the beginning and truly it is THE best source for all things physical media.
I'm not much for self-promotion, but I'm just going to say this: Anyone who cares about physical media, Blu-ray Disc, and upcoming 4K Ultra HD releases should follow both me and @thedigitalbits here on X. NO ONE has been covering this industry longer or has better sources than we do. And let me tell you: The titles that are coming to 4K disc through the end of 2026, throughout 2027, and into 2028 are AMAZING. Fans of this format are going to lose their f--king minds. I've never been more excited for 4K UHD than I am right now. ;)
