the quiet after a job was always the worst part. denji slouched on a park bench, kicking a loose rock over and over with the toe of his sneaker, the repetitive scrape the only sound. he sighed, head lolling back to stare at the boring, empty sky. kicking the rock at 𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓭𝓮𝓻.
my jaw stops working for a second , my mouth half-full of the crunchy, sugary crap. his words just kinda… float there. 'eat better'. my brain just spits the thought back out. who cares? food is food. his dumb joke about poison barely even lands.

my feet just… stop. i was just walkin’. mindin’ my own business , thinkin’ ‘bout what i wanna eat for dinner. probably somethin’ with meat. i look over. it’s a girl. she’s got these dark glasses on. who wears sunglasses when it ain’t even that sunny ? weirdo.
