I think Apple should do something interesting with the Wi-Fi network section on iOS/iPadOS. Create groups and tag those groups with geo location. e.g. Travel--just include airport and hotel networks. Then those connect when at those locations. Otherwise just ignore them.
There is no bigger runaround and example of how not to do customer service than when the mental midgets @ATT hires to bury fiber to your home cut your buried electric power feed. The claim process is insanity.
