And here I thought the job was to be funny
Stephen Colbert says that he's feeling better not hosting a late night show because "the old gig as I remember it was that to be lowered like carbon rods into a radioactive pool every day. And then to be pulled out and put in front of a camera and to eradiate it back at the audience at a nonlethal rad level."
Jimmy Kimmel agrees, "That's right. That's exactly the job description."
That's only the job description if you want it to be

This misunderstands the thinking of many immigrants, & does so in an extremely insulting way.
In general, they aren’t anti-immigrant, but anti-illegal immigration. They came here the right way and either don’t subscribe to myths about its impossibility or blanch at line-cutting.
Replying to @billybinion
I’ve always been fascinated by the fact that so many immigrants (or their kids) seem to be some of the most anti-immigrant among us. Bending over backward to prove you're ~one of the good ones~ isn’t convincing anyone. It’s just kind of pitiful.

In Massachusetts, they'll take your kids away not because you've abused them, but because you've objected to their abuse at the hands of the trans cult. What happened to parental rights and religious freedom?
People ask why I care so much about this issue. This is why. If this doesn’t make you care, nothing will.
A Massachusetts family says the state took custody of their teenage daughter after they refused to affirm her as a boy, citing their Catholic faith.
The parents allege a school counselor socially transitioned their daughter without their knowledge, then reported them to the Department of Children and Families.
Now the state has guardianship, and a restraining order prevents the teen's parents and older brother from contacting her.
A judge has temporarily blocked the state from administering high-dose testosterone as the family fights the case. The next court hearing is set for Oct. 29. | @LaurenGreenFox @AmericaNewsroom

This is such an important use for FSD. Giving the elderly freedom of movement while keeping everyone safe makes independent living possible.
In-home robots are next
Larry, a 98-year-old, just bought a new @Tesla Model Y, and he uses FSD (Supervised) to drive him everywhere. His first car was a 1931 Ford Model A haha. He uses Grok to navigate.
"It has no problems. In fact, the other day FSD stopped when a chipmunk was crossing the road."
Definitely a video worth checking out: youtube.com/watch?v=aqVrSErW…

Absolutely not.
Trump pledges a $5,000 ‘dividend’ to all US adults if the GOP wins the midterms dlvr.it/TVPpsm
There is an easy solution to the Flock/ALPR problem. After checking if the plate belongs suspect, delete the data/photos at the camera if they belong to an innocent American's vehicle (only store photo/data in the larger historical database for suspect vehicles).
This enables the police to still utilize ALPRs for quickly detecting/parsing vehicle/plates and getting a heads up if vehicle is suspected of a crime (modern tech police tools), without creepily monitoring all innocent Americans.

The degeneration of Nature, Science, NEJM, and Scientific American into woke propaganda dispensers (and their refusal to publish normie, centrist, common-sense responses) is a scientific scandal.

ICE ‘targets’ people who are in the United States illegally. Immigration authorities of all countries do this. The subtext of articles like this is that it’s somehow ok to cross the border illegally or to overstay a visa. It’s not. This shouldn’t be controversial.
ICE has arrested more than half a million people since President Trump returned to office, and nearly 40 percent do not have a criminal record.
As of Aug. 6, ICE had detained more people without a criminal record this year than in all of 2025. wapo.st/45V4GP5

The amount of people who believe everyone else should be monitored 24x7 outside of their homes is gross.

Privacy is part of American liberty.
Flock Cameras are fundamentally anti-American.
The government serves the people, not the other way around. The Fourth Amendment protects Americans from unreasonable searches and government surveillance. Our homes, personal papers, communications, and private lives are not open for government agents to inspect whenever they want. When authorities want to intrude, they need lawful justification.
These protections exist for a reason. The Founders knew what abusive government power looked like, and they understood that freedom cannot survive if ordinary citizens have to live wondering whether the government is constantly watching them. Privacy is not some favor given to us by politicians. It is part of the constitutional system that keeps government power limited and accountable.
Americans should be free to live, speak, think, and associate without unjustified government intrusion. That is not paranoia. That is liberty.
It does not mean we want criminals to roam wild. I understand the desire to use tools to catch criminals like Flock. But this fundamentally is Anti-American and it puts a target on the back of every innocent citizen. This is not the way.
Good on @GregAbbott_TX for stepping in and defending Texans on this.
Texans do not like being spied on 24/7 by the government
THIS IS NOT THE TEXAS WAY
Good on @GregAbbott_TX for stepping in and doing something about it
Let's Go!!! 🤠
Instead of enabling Flock in God mode (monitoring and recording every American's car movements all the time), how about we enable it like a police officer stationed on a street corner (looking out for and recording only the car suspected of use in a crime)?
