The Hotel de Ville in Limoges, France built was opened in 1883.
Rioters claim to have burned it down due to high cost of living and underfunded education.
But France’s GDP per capita, disposable income per capita and public education funding as a proportion of GDP are significantly higher today than at any previous point in that entire timeframe (except for relatively recent fluctuations).
There’s simply no excuse for this.
