Big development in the 9/11 archives Over 11 hours of raw, extended high definition footage from the Naudet brothers was just released yesterday. It not only provides never before seen footage, but much clearer film that was previously broken and incomplete. This includes the firefighters all returning back to the station following the 9/11 attacks, what that first night looked like, raw conversations amongst the men, and working “the pile” as seen here. It also provides what I believe is a clear shot of Bill Biggart in his final moments before tower 2 came down. If you’re interested in raw, extended footage that shows the small details of what it was like to be there, I would recommend it.

These photos are haunting. I’ve never seen them. They appear to be taken within the World Trade Center plaza following the collapse of the south tower. If so, they could perhaps the only pictures taken (and developed) inside the plaza between the two collapsed. And they are extremely close. These photos first appeared on an unknown website on September 18th, 2001. I’ve just recently learned about Ed Kotski’s story, which he published a a week after 9/11. It’s incredibly detailed, raw, and human. These photos were said to have been published on that website 25 years ago, but have since been delinked. Fortunately, that website is still live today.
