I’m staggered by the increase in my family’s quality of life since our move back to Florida. I say this as I’m drinking sweet tea waiting on a blackened grouper sandwich at a fish market 🌞

Let's Go! 🇺🇸 🌀 💪🏼
#Florida Man spotted yesterday at Fort Walton Beach as #hurricane #Isaias approaches.
Moving back to Florida has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I and my family are happier, we’re getting constant sunshine, community, and we’re growing guava, soursop, tobacco, etc. Basically tropicmaxxing.
Things are good 🌞

NVK got a pass on his poor behaviour and policies (i.e. open-source vs. verifiable code) because his company seemed to produce a top-tier product in the space
Now that its clear they didn’t get the fundamentals right in a catastrophic way he deserves to be absolutely crucified

I'm a software engineer with an MSc in Computer Science and 25+ years in the industry. Here's why Coinkite's Coldcard bug isn't an oopsy, it's disqualifying.
Coldcard's seed generation silently fell back to a non-cryptographic "random" number generator for 5 years. Not because crypto is hard, but because Coinkite violated the most basic rule of secure system design: fail closed, never open. When a security-critical path can't be verified, the system refuses to run and throws an error.
It does not quietly substitute something weaker and carry on. This code should have refused to produce a seed. Instead it produced a predictable one and continue silently. ☠️
A company that lets its most critical code path go unverified for half a decade cannot be trusted with your keys.
Throw away your Coldcards. Never buy one again.

BREAKING: ADM Paparo, 4-star Admiral and Commander of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, just testified before the Senate that “Bitcoin shows incredible potential” as a tool for U.S. national security. Watch the full exchange:

Monero appears to be in the midst of a successful 51% attack.
The privacy-focused blockchain, launched in 2014 and long targeted by governments and 3-letters agencies, is already banned from most major centralized exchanges.
The Qubic mining pool has been amassing hashrate for months and now controls a majority of the network. A major chain reorganization was detected this morning. With its current dominance, Qubic can rewrite the blockchain, enable double-spending, and censor any transaction.
Sustaining this attack is estimated to cost $75 million per day. While potentially lucrative, it threatens to destroy confidence in the network almost overnight. Other miners are left with no incentive to continue, as Qubic can simply orphan any competing blocks, effectively becoming the sole miner.
In effect, a $300 million market-cap chain is taking over a $6 billion one. Monero’s options for recovery are limited, and a full takeover is now possible and even likely.
So far, XMR has dropped only 13%.
This is a powerful advertisement for permissionless protocols like #nostr.
It always seems like there’s an inversely proportional relationship between one’s online influence and ability to see the forest for the trees.
Greetings from Charleston, SC. Now that the family and I are back on the east coast, we’re city shopping.
Our criteria:
Sunny
Coastal
Good food scene
Reasonable cost of living
Good place to raise kids
It’s our first day of exploring the city but it seems to tick a lot of boxes.

I am thrilled to announce that I am joining @nakamoto as VP of Investor Relations.
I believe that we are living through a once-in-a-lifetime integration of Bitcoin into financial markets. Bitcoin Treasury companies have emerged as a surprising but in retrospect obvious vehicle for global capital to flow into Bitcoin at scale.
@DavidFBailey and UTXO recognized this early and built tremendous expertise creating numerous Treasury companies globally.
That being said, most investors do not yet understand why these companies exist nor why they matter.
I get to help tell that story to capital markets via my new role with Nakamoto and I couldn't be more excited.
I also want to deeply thank the Swan team and @coryswan for the last 4.5 years - they were both incredible and life changing. My reflections on Swan deserve their own thread (and will get one).
But for now- thank you, and here's to the next chapter!
Tried out @deno_land Deploy this morning. Impressive. Super smooth experience. Definitely going to be working with Fresh and Deno more often. Everything about it is slick and polished.
