Yesterday was Day 1 of exhibiting Cardano at Gitex Africa 2026. My takeaway is that we need to focus more on helping projects and businesses with real-world use cases leverage Cardano’s infrastructure in their backend.

King Of Boys is such an amazing movie. It’s so good.
Yesterday, I hosted dinner in honour of @DrObafemiHamzat, the incoming Governor of Lagos State. A man of the highest integrity, with whom I shared a bunk bed at boarding school 49 years ago. My experience of his character over the years has been defined by his honesty, sincerity, fairness and strong moral principles… F.Ote💲

I was saving 445K when I earned 500K. I will walk from Unilag to Adekunle then enter bus to eko hotel roundabout and walk to Ligali Ayorinde. then carry my food from the house too. I reckon that If I walked 3rd mainland to eko hotel roundabout, I would have saved 482K
Let me say this again I will easily save 300k as someone that earns 500k monthly

Work quietly. Don’t let the noise around you drown out the purpose within you. Work within your capacity. Don’t let what’s outside your control consume you. Work sincerely. Don’t let the approval of people become your obsession.

People underestimate the importance of living in a country with real economic and diplomatic power. It is not just about prestige, military strength or global influence. It is also about having a government that can apply pressure when its citizens are in trouble abroad.

Nigerians Will Pay Fuel Tax When The Economy Becomes Stable — Minister of Finance, Taiwo Oyedele Nigeria’s Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, has said the Federal Government will introduce fuel taxes when the economy stabilises and citizens’ incomes can accommodate the extra costs. He disclosed this in an interview with ARISE News on the sidelines of the 2026 IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings in Bangkok, Thailand, explaining that the government would first consolidate its economic reforms, restore growth and improve household earnings. Oyedele said imposing additional levies immediately after petrol subsidy removal would have worsened Nigerians’ hardship. “You remove subsidy, you can’t immediately impose taxes. That would be insensitive. You push the people to the wall,” he said. The minister noted that fuel taxes account for between 20 and 80 per cent of petroleum prices in some countries, while several African nations impose multiple levies on fuel products. He said the proposed revenue would support infrastructure and help the country prepare for future disruptions in fuel supply. “Not because we want to impose taxes, it will be because those amounts of taxes will be dedicated into road infrastructure, they’ll be dedicated into building our fuel reserve, that can help us moderate prices of fuel products, if anything happens,” he explained. According to Oyedele, the arrangement could also allow the government to suspend the levies temporarily when necessary to cushion the effects of market shocks. “This is what more than 50 countries around the world, they were reducing the taxes, but we had no taxes, there was nothing to reduce,” he added. “There has to be an order published in the gazette by the finance minister, which means we can’t do it in secret,” he said. Oyedele maintained that the taxes would only be introduced when economic conditions improved sufficiently and Nigerians could understand the reasons for the policy and its expected benefits.

Nigerians have this mentality of wanting to be better than the next person. It is not enough that you are winning, you have to be better than the next person or your win is not fulfilling. That is why as a country we will never go far. You can trace this reasoning to every aspect of our lives - even politics. Politicians keep you poor because they need people to worship them. People who japa will tell you that the place don dey cast because other people are coming into the country themselves migrated to. A restaurant is no lo ger luxurious because more people can afford it even though it is expensive. We are too poor for the standard we set.

The family you don't spend money to look after, you'll still spend money to bury. Some of you want to gather and gather, invest and invest, become multi-millionaires and billionaires before you start helping. The truth is, if you don't help when you have enough, you wont help when you're rich. The problem is , you think you have time. One thing I know is that no amount of money will fill the gap of loss. I've seen it a number of times.

New in Europe as a jjc, things started smooth with an oyinbo until I introduced her to my "fellow country men." All of a sudden, everybody wanted a white girl, bombarding her on FB and Insta, claiming they’re better 'cause they’ve been here. She got tired and started showing me their messages , men I call boss o, even go to their house to chop Egusi! The hate we have for ourselves needs to be studied. Smh.

I’ve vowed that if I ever relocate abroad, this will change. As little as inviting your fellow Nigerian abroad, they will charge the person heaven and earth. When they arrive, everyone hides update from the next person. It has to stop if we want to have a thriving diaspora community. With our numbers, we should not be struggling abroad.

So true. Indians have a very strong community in the UK too. What they do is that their community join money together to help bring more indians to the UK. When they arrive, they share apartment. They could be like 10 in that apartment but they dont care. If you want to do mortgage, they pull money together to raise the deposit for you. They do same with school fees. They share all the updates with each other and employ each other. For Nigerians, a Nigerian will even advise you not to employ or do business with Nigerians, that you limit it to party or flexing. There is trust deficit among us and that is because your fellow Nigerians go abroad looking to scam you instead of building relationship. We collect money from people for things that are even free just because those people are new and don't understand the system yet, instead of helping them settle in. We are largely not good people. It is a value system problem. We have a comparative complex. We want to look better than others. We judge each other by jobs, by visa status, school we attend, location we reside and even type of house we live in. We are not normal people.

Coming back to this. There are many Indian owned businesses in the UK and due to community strength, they employ each other and give themselves job sponsorship to remain in the UK. They encourage and support each other to start businesses, get job and bring others in. A Nigerian would be selling sponsorship that is not even his company. There is no job, just sponsorship. You'll still go outside to look for work to pay bills after paying £10k. We hide update because we want to be better than the next person.

A lot is going on in this country and we’re just keeping quiet. 💔🤐 You demand for good governance, they tell you to mind your business. You try to mind your business, they still insult you. When are we going to come as one and demand for what we’re being owed?

In some families, everyone sells what they have to support one person. Even the siblings' education are sacrificed. Those siblings would go look for any type of work to do - even the work that comes with humiliation, - and still send you money to support you. If people are crying about black tax, you better keep quiet. You're a product of black tax yourself. Always know the family you come from. Don't let privileged people tell you about black tax. People will tell you that "everybody will be alright even if you don't help." Na lie ooo. You would not have been alright if they didn't sacrifice for you. Ensure the people that looked after you are well looked after. Ensure your family can feed. Some of you blew up as superstars in whatever field you delved into. You're the light in your family. Accept your reality. Money eaten alone is not sweet.
