this security researcher just dropped two unpatched critical vulnerabilities on twitter for everyone to see. before a fix even existed
CVEs that let attackers take over servers through PHP’s session handler. fully weaponizable. lab tested. working exploit
and they posted it publicly. on twitter. while millions of servers are still vulnerable
other researcher is furious saying he should be blacklisted from the industry for life
this is the debate nobody outside of security understands
responsible disclosure means you report the bug privately, give the team time to fix it, THEN go public
this person skipped all of that and dropped a loaded gun on the timeline for anyone to pick up
every script kiddie on earth now has a working exploit for a bug that hasn’t been patched yet
“but the public deserves to know” sure. and now every attacker knows too. before the fix is ready
there’s a difference between transparency and recklessness. this was recklessness

Imagine the opening if A24 was a competent distributor.
‘YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING’ opened with $15M domestically.
Biggest opening weekend for a non-music documentary in over 2 decades.

Dawg, someone get Discord on the horn and tell their CEO his company is a fucking piece of shit. This exploit is devastating and if this guy didn't tell them, and instead decided to weaponize it, he could have fucking destroyed end users.
All bro would have had to do is be like. "Check out this Twitch streamers clip", and destroyed their machine, executing any malware they wanted arbitrarily, stealing data, whatever.
Bro could have gone to large Discord channels, shared the link, potentially infecting thousands upon thousands of people effortlessly
He could have down more precise operations targeting prominent streamers, moderators, celebrities known to use Discord, and fucking wiped them all out with anything he chose to execute
Imagine if he sold this exploit to ransomware groups
He could have made millions of dollars, easily
Imagine if he went into a cryptocurrency Discord and the payload was a cryptodrainer. He could have drained entire communities in seconds
And they paid bro $5,500
That's absolutely sickening. JayTaelien is a fucking saint and decides a much larger payouf

XKCD: I wrote xkcd.com/221/ "Random Number" as a cautionary tale.
Tech Company: At long last, we have created the Random Number from classic web comic Don't Create The Random Number.

Ukraine's targeting of Russian data centers is exposing the true nature of the online support for not just America's Republican party, anti-Ukraine and secession movements globally, but Germany's AFD as well.
This whole platform is just Russia's plaything, supporting the Russia/Musk/Trump global fascist movement.

It’s really an A+ troll by Zelenskyy to take out half of Russia’s bot farm, weeks before the US midterm elections.

Martin Lewis has asked the public for simple, inexpensive and broadly uncontroversial changes that could make Britain work a little better.
What better place to start than with putting an end to street scars?
We can hold utility companies to account for scarring our streets with just a few changes to legislation that will:
🚧Make them put pavements back exactly as they found them and increase the fines for failing to do so.
🚧Require them to pay the full cost of restoring damaged pavements to the original standard.

Please submit your small ideas for fixing Britain to the Small-Ideas.org website. It’s a new charitable initiative I’ve set up to try and make sure life’s potholes don’t get ignored. Working with two charities and a cross party panel to turn your ideas into policy then try and make it happen. Please share.

Interesting phrasing, BBC News! I feel sure a woman has won something in a UK tournament before… don’t tell me, don’t tell me..

Kick was started when Twitch did their gambling bans and Stake players were affected. Literally the Bender Blackjack meme. If you think Kick was actually started to be an actual full blown competitor in the streaming space and not a space carved out for gambling...wanna buy a bridge?

I am not joking when I say this.
Traveling is over.
Google Street View is now very, very good. You just don’t know yet because all the street views you’ve seen are from 2-3 generations ago.
Google Street View has solved infinite personalized travel.
