Hey all, I'm looking for a new contract. I'm most at home doing Ruby on Rails performance and scaling work, including Postgres scaling and optimisation. I also do Rails upgrades and tech leadership stuff.

Anyone I follow work at Meta, or know someone that does? I created an account for my pizza business last night and it got disabled within the hour. I appealed, was unsuccessful and the account is now permanently disabled.
RT appreciated.

I wrote something up on why and how you should use the Rails block syntax!

Twitter have dropped support for third party clients and I refuse to use the official app, its insufferable, so I’m just not going to be around on Twitter very much if at all anymore. Find me on Mastodon @wj@ruby.social.

The NHS collapsing before our eyes, nurses using foodbanks, social care in perma-crisis, schools facing bankruptcy, rivers full of shit, privatised utilities brazenly ripping us off, licensed thieves walking off with billions, an epidemic of corruption. Enough of this misrule!
Turns out you can tweet an existing tweet that has your prohibited site linked in, eg. xitter.cf/will_j/status/15908023…
I’m now pretty much only reading Twitter. Most actual original writing/discussion is now on Mastodon. This is good news if you found my tweets dull ;)

Amid warnings that just one-in-five trains will run during today’s rail strikes, Avanti West Coast customers look forward to the improved service.

Cards on the table. I’m a nurse, I’m on £84k a year plus expenses. My hospital has heavily subsidised bars and restaurant and best of all free car parking. I didn’t even have to study or have a degree or anything. Oh hang on, that’s MPs, not nurses
