I've tried like a dozen iOS dictation apps and Mac apps, and I'm shocked by how good @FluidVoiceApp is.
I'll admit that I had a bit of hesitancy about local models, but I was completely wrong.
Another great thing about the iOS app is you don't need to always swipe back and forth between the app and the app you're trying to write in. I don't know what they're doing to make that work, but it works.
And it's freakin' free.
Introducing Wispr-flow like AI Dictation, BUT using local AI
Send messages, Speak ideas into your iPhone, convert your speech to text instantly
All done locally, so no cloud involved, giving you unlimited words :)
I'm a solo developer trying hard to change the landscape of AI dictation :)
1st round of TestFlight was a SHOUTING success!!
Round 2 is open for everyone who missed it

Hell yeah. I knew there was a reason I was still checking in to places.
If I get access to @typesafeai’s Jev, I’m just going to use it to figure out what to make for dinner each night.
If the AI doomerism is getting you down, cuddle up with this bedtime story goodreads.com/book/show/1864…
I think I’ve finally figured out how to spend less time on my iPhone.
Apparently, it required another iPhone.
I’ve been flirting with the dumbphone life for a while. I never expected to go full time, but I wanted a little refuge from the internet on nights and weekends.
I tried Brick (@livebricked) on and off for a couple of years. It’s a great device, especially paired with Blank Spaces to make my phone feel as dumb as possible.
The problem: because I have no life, I was usually home near my Brick whenever I wanted to cheat. Which happened more often than I’d like to admit.
I also tried a Light Phone (@thelightphone). But iMessage had its claws in me, and switching back and forth made messaging enough of a nightmare that I eventually sold it.
What’s finally stuck for the past few months is an iPhone Air with only the bare minimum apps installed.
Every night, I forward calls from my main phone to the Air and put the main phone in a drawer. The Air becomes my nights-and-weekends phone.
The familiar experience makes a bigger difference than I expected. I can use the essential apps without fighting the phone or reaching for my normal one.
Right now, the Air is on a cheap MVNO plan. I’m hoping @ATT supports iPhone Handoff (theverge.com/tech/990868/iph…) in iOS 27 so I can retire the call-forwarding routine.
Getting another iPhone to use my iPhone less: the kind of reasoning only a gadget addict could believe.
@arcinternet I know there isn’t an iPad version of the mobile app yet, but can you include an icon for the iPad so we can send info to Arc from that device? BTW, the mobile app is 🔥

I seem to be able to read tweets again with @tweetbot, but I can't post.

One year of daily meditation with @Headspace! I can't recommend it enough. The level of mindfulness I feel while meditating tracks with my general mental well-being. If I have a few bad sessions in a row, I know I need to take care of myself.
