Cop being exactly the kind of scum you'd expect
As a former NYPD lieutenant, I’ll give you the inside scoop on these protests:
Cops hate them. No one wants to work these details. You actively try to avoid the desk in order to not be notified of these.
You get to the detail and usually the “Free Palestine” crowd is on one side of the street and the pro-Israel side is on the other. You then spend the next couple hours trying to stop the “Free Palestine” crowd from physically attacking the pro-Israel crowd.
After that, the “Free Palestine” crowd will march and shut down traffic. Along the way, they’ll disrupt sidewalk cafes, random passersby, and anyone who they think might be Jewish.
Then they’ll find a place to stop, where they’ll harass cops, take their names and shield numbers, and threaten to doxx them. They’ll even pick fights with cops and do things so the cops will be forced to move in and arrest them. That’s where they’ll film their infamous YouTube videos highlighting “police brutality.” Mind you, the cops have been actively trying to protect them the entire time, but propaganda is needed.
After a 15 hour day, the cops are finally cut loose, waiting for the impending CCRB accusations.
… and everyone wonders why recruitment and retainment are down.
