Let’s be clear: this is a revival of Section 28. Transgender people exist; no legislation can erase that reality. It didn’t work before, & it only inflicted lasting harm on a generation of LGB people. This guidance is grotesquely transphobic & driven entirely by baseless ideology
🚨 BREAKING | Labour has **banned** schools from teaching children about transgender identities. New guidance from Bridget Philipson BANS materials that "encourage pupils to question their gender" and orders teachers to teach "laws about biological sex". It's Section 28 again.

My MP @FJMcNally voted to suppress protest in the UK, amongst other rights he’s tried to suppress recently.
Palestine Action has now been proscribed by the UK Government and expressing support for them is a criminal offence. This includes chanting, wearing clothing or displaying articles such as flags, signs or logos. news.met.police.uk/news/upda…

An Irish caller on LBC suggested that the BBC could show the Kneecap performance at Glastonbury, but dub it with posh English accents like they did with Gerry Adams. 😅😅😅

It’s great that section 28 was repealed, but now compare the Labour government from then to now. They don’t care about minorities as they try out out Farage the Reform party. Section 28: Death threats and Holyrood's 'first culture war' bbc.com/news/articles/c78n9n…

Would be funny if WhatsApp are refusing to give the British Government access to the encrypted chats, but then selling access to Sky at the same time…

While I totally agree, I’m not sure they can fit the announcements in between all the “See It Say It Sorted”
On the Eurostar. They actually make an announcement saying that anyone watching videos, listening to music etc on phones or laptops MUST wear headphones to avoid bothering other passengers. They should do this on every train!

The pensioners who don’t have to pay national insurance anymore, while other folk earning less than £35k who pay full tax get no help.
🚨 BREAKING: Keir Starmer has announced all pensioners earning £35,000 or less will receive the Winter Fuel Payment this winter

Today is International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia. As a gay man, I lived through Section 28. I remember how painful it was. Now, the culture war targeting trans people, questioning their right to even exist, feels even crueller. Solidarity. Always. 🌈🏳️‍⚧️

With Labour’s policies of making the poor poorer, they’re going to need a lot more than 14,000 spaces.
The Tories added just 500 prison places in 14 years. Labour has a plan to add 14,000 new prison places by 2031 - including four new prisons.

It’s a pretty useful thing to have, but to be honest in my experience most folk would want clean trains. Any time I get the train from Inverness to Invergordon it’s absolutely filthy.
Customers using ScotRail trains in the Scottish Highlands will be offered unprecedented access to satellite technology – transforming how they can stay connected when travelling on Scotland's Railway. Business Minister, @RichardLochhead MSP switched on the service this morning in Inverness and the first Class 158 train with the new tech will be out on the tracks tomorrow. Check out this video for more information on this UK-first innovation. ℹ️scotrail.co.uk/about-scotrai…
