Old books are bought in bulk, scanned and destroyed for training LLMs. Did not see that coming.

India needs avg 9.84% nominal dollar gdp growth annually to reach 30 Trillion GDP mark that is considered as Viksit Bharat.
I like the optimism, but we also need means to accelerate and sustain such growth levels for multiple decades.
This means we need growth to come from multiple sectors that leads to this annual growth.
I don’t understand what those sectors are going to be. But these are the necessary preconditions
It has to come largely from export led growth. We need to use AI in every sector to improve efficiency and productivity. Next generation has to be skilled and productive to support this growth story. Infrastructure has to catchup significantly throughout the country, red tape and corruption has to come down.
‘hum karenge’ sounds nice. But i hope everyone knows how big the challenge realistically is.
Kerala hotels and restaurants association says they wouldn’t accept payment more than 2k in UPI going forward.
This is how bad policy destroys years of progress.
CJP members getting arrested today reminded me of Navalny the Russian opposition leader getting arrested by Putin’s government

Navalny at-least made it to the terminal before being arrested. CJP members were arrested in flight which shows how afraid this government is.
I saw some really elitist comments from co passengers in the flight mocking CJP members. It takes a special kind of courage to take that flight knowing you are going to be arrested, these are bright young men who could have chosen to not bother with any of this stuff and pursue a peaceful life far removed from all of this.
We might have difference of opinion on politics, but lets not doubt for a moment the courage of these young men who decided to pursue a path knowing fully the consequences. They knew they were in harm’s path and still decided to take it.
India is not Russia, what happened to Navalny will not happen to these young men and their voices will not be silenced.
Extreme projection for drop in knowledge workers is 13.5% . Definitely not the knowledge work apocalypse. Modest is 0.3% , substantial is 2.5%

This is the CPI weight for different category. I think Education Services, Accommodation (Rent) and Health should have significantly more weightage if this has to become more meaningful.
A good idea would be to maintain an inflation index by collecting data from public. This will also lead to much granular data that can give a picture of different regions of the country.
Kerala receives roughly 3k mm rainfall annually. It is twice the national average.
Indian standard says that a person in household should have access to 135L of water. For a 4 member family , this works out to around 35 KL of water in a 2 month period.
The sad part is that Kerala Water Authority (KWA) is not able to provide this 35 KL of water. Infact the RTI response i got for 2 month period shows state average as 13.92 KL which is less than half of the expected norm. Either the meters are not working and leading to a huge revenue loss for KWA or they are working and KWA is not able to deliver the minimum quantity of water as prescribed by the Indian standards.
You can understand this if we are living in a place which is lacking water for geographical reasons.
But to have 44 rivers, twice the national average of rainfall and a thin stretch of land compared to other states and still fumble like this on delivery of a necessary item is hugely disappointing.
You won't see public outrage on this statewide because most people have assumed that state can't provide water properly and have relied on ground water coupled with some purification system.
With global temperature rising everywhere and water shortage piling up everywhere, Kerala is blessed with it's geography to still do okay technically, but we are blessed with incompetence of delivery that leads to an artificial man made shortage.
I heard some commentary about Kerala Gov thinking & preparing for post AGI world. I think the first focus should be on bare essentials and things you can actually fix such as water. Water purification isn't rocket science. It just needs more budget allocation and you need more pipes and some basic infra to be built.
If you just notice the trend of number of outlets selling canned water popping up everywhere , you would know how bad the situation is becoming. Please pay attention to this matter @CMOkeralam
