JUST IN: NASA says its Moon Base is running ahead of schedule, with the first element now expected to launch in December followed by near-monthly robotic missions to the lunar surface beginning in early 2027.
NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman said the agency expects to beat the original national-space-policy target of putting the first Moon Base elements in place by 2030.
The plan is to send infrastructure, rovers and other equipment ahead of astronauts so hardware is already operating on the surface when crews arrive.
NASA is also developing a public website that will allow people to follow construction of the lunar base as missions arrive.
“We’re leaving no doubts this time,” Isaacman said. “It’s all in HD.”

📺DEBUT: The game show ‘Where in Time Is Carmen Sandiego?’ premiered 30 years ago, October 1996, on PBS.
A follow-up to ‘Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?,’ the show sent kid contestants chasing Carmen’s gang through history, from ancient civilizations to more recent eras. Unlike the earlier series, which focused on geography, this one shifted the game to history, social studies and pop culture.

I had the absolutely ONCE IN A LIFETIME experience of getting to know Eva Marie Saint on the set of SUPERMAN RETURNS back in 2005. She was on set for a few weeks shooting her part as Martha Kent with her boyfriend, Ben Hubbard, played to perfection by James Karen. As the Set Documentarian, I shot a lot of amazing footage with her...and she told me all kinds of crazy stories about Hollywood. She was, as one might say, a pistol. But she was also whip-smart, kind, elegant and just a joy to speak with. Her actual husband, Jeffrey Hayden, whom she was married to from 1951 to his passing in 2016 (!!!), also visited, and he was equally delightful. The pair were still very much in love. The likes of her will never pass this way again. She passed at 102. Just an amazing human being. May her memory be a blessing: deadline.com/2026/10/eva-mar…

St. Louis needs to stop saying, "No, that won't or can't happen," and start asking, "Why not St. Louis," and make it happen.

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS turns 70 today.
The parting of the Red Sea took 8 months & cost around $1 million. Paramount used a 360,000 gallon tank, filmed the water rushing into it, then reversed the footage to create the illusion of the sea splitting apart.

Bob Gibson started Game 7 of the World Series three times. He won in 1964 on two days of rest, won again in 1967 and hit a home run in it, and lost in 1968 to Mickey Lolich and the Tigers. The Cardinals have won 11 winner take all Game 7s in all, the most of any franchise.
The Yankees and Dodgers went into 2026 tied for second with six. Eight of the Cardinals' wins came in the World Series itself, more than any other team has.

St. Louis had a seven game lead with 12 to play in 2006 and then lost seven in a row.
Houston got within half a game. The Cardinals limped in at 83 and 78, the worst record any World Series champion had ever had.
Then they beat the Padres, beat the Mets in seven when rookie closer Adam Wainwright froze Carlos Beltrán with a curveball with the bases loaded, and took Detroit in five. David Eckstein was World Series MVP.
Which champion had the toughest road?
