There are two new housing developments near me in desirable locations. The builders for each are Lennar and DR Horton. The houses, although massive and modern, are cheaply made with tiny yards. Since around August the construction has tapered down to almost a full stop with only about 20% of the developments completed. Of the homes that have been built, many are sitting on the market for months with large “AVAIL” signs fastened to the front. No one can afford them. What’s next?

This is the bread box of my 4th great-grandfather, Horatio Kingsbury. It's 170 years old. Simple, but sturdy. He was a farmer in Massachusetts his whole life. My grandmother gifted it to me several years ago, and I'm very grateful.

Unplugged the TV just now and told my kids I’d give them $5 for every book they read (grade levels 2-5). I then showed them 25 books of various children’s series. They’re now all reading with determination. It’s really that easy.
