Where to bloody start? There isn't enough British food to buy because the crass, malformed, malignant clown-show of Brexit that you promoted, has undermined food production, courtesy of ill-thought out subsidies. Plus, brexit-driven border controls have stymied imports.

Principled and brave. The extreme right menace France after the European elections so Macron dissolves parliament and calls for fresh parliamentary elections - the first round on June 30th. Incredible. Whether Farage here or le Pen in France vital to take these people on.

While understanding the surprise (it was unexpected!) at Natalie Elphicke’s defection, I’m bemused by the shock, in some quarters, that Keir Starmer welcomed her.
No, not because Sir Keir is a “Red Tory” or a “short-term opportunist”.
His grand strategy explains it.

These elections have shown pro-environment parties and mayors who made net zero central to their campaigns made significant gains.
Reform have won 2 council seats out of 2500.
Time to recognise the net zero row back and kowtowing to an extreme fringe was a strategic disaster

The Government used to own NHS Professionals which hires cover staff for the NHS.
David Cameron sold it and now providing cover staff makes £500m+ a year profit.
Enough to provide nearly 20,000 Junior Doctors.
That’s how Privatisation ‘works’.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
NHS Professionals was incorporated as a private limited company in 2008. It's sole shareholder is the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC). It was not "sold" as suggested.
It is entirely self-funded and in 2021-22 it returned a dividend of £18 million back to DHSC.

More truly shocking Tory asylum failure
Only 1% of overall small boat arrivals since 2020 returned
Just 5% of Albanian small boat arrivals returned - even tho it’s a designated safe country
Labour will clear backlog & set up new returns unit for fair & effective enforcement
🚨 Letter from @ukhomeoffice Permanent Secretary to @CommonsHomeAffs contains new statistics on the asylum backlog, Bibby Stockholm costs & returns of small boat arrivals.
