Someone on here asked me if I could colourise one of the nice black & white studio shots from #DoctorWho and the Ghost Light - so I did. Sophie Aldred and Sylvester McCoy pose with the TARDIS on the Upper Observatory set in TC3 on Tuesday 18th July 1989. That bloody jumper though. No wonder I don’t colour in many McCoy photos…

The problem wasn't with their castings but that they played silly doctors when their best moments was when (Mostly Ncuti) they were catty and serious. I think Jodie had some good moments when she was lighter too but 13's character needed more flaws. 15 should've been meaner.

I like Doctor Who. I like William Hartnell as Doctor Who. I like Ncuti Gatwa as Doctor Who. To put it plainly I’m a Doctor Who fan. I prefer some eras over others, sure. But as a whole I love the show and still do.

I’m gonna praise the restoration because it’s wonderfully done. But it does show clearly how they pulled his eyes back and so it’s another rude awakening for reminding you of the fact that this is a white man in yellowface

And this is, I believe, an actual color photo from DMP. I couldn't find a precise source verifying its origin, but assuming it's legitimate, it proves that Stoney's makeup was not blue (as some would claim)

For all his health issues by this point, Hartnell just IS The Doctor. He's so settled and it feels like The Daleks' Master Plan is his pinnacle. It's HIS show. It's after this that they start sifting him.

Seeing the performances in the newly recovered episode adds a lot, and one of the biggest benefits to me is how the Doctor's immediate fondness for Katarina is so much more apparent. It makes me all the more sad her time on the show was so short lived.
